Re: Best high end foundations

For me, it is either Armani Luminous Silk or Nars Sheer Glow.  And now, I can't get either locally.  My local Sephora never carried the Armani and now they have stopped carrying the Nars Sheer Glow.  I tried the Nars Light Reflecting one and felt it made me look harsh when I compared pics side by side.

My favorite high-end foundation is Nars Light Reflecting foundation.  I am also using the IT Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow.

Nars - Natural looking coverage and buildable for a more full coverage look.  It is just a hint of light reflecting, which I like.  It's not over the top glowy.  It wears all day, too, which I appreciate.

IT Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow - the first time I bought it I loved the coverage, but the color was off.  Now that I have the correct color I can sing its praises!  It is a wee bit more glowy than the NARS but still a beautiful finish and wears all day, too.

As much as I like the EL Double Wear, my regular go to is the IT Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow, too.  It's my favorite from the brand. I agree with you, @SurferWife about it being a little glowier.  I take that down with a little Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten or Skinn Finishing Powder.

@JeanLouiseFinch and @SurferWife  - I love IT CC Nude Glow.  That's the only tinted  moisturizer that I use.  Reach for it more than a regular foundation.

Don't forget the "lipstick therapy" when you are ready for a pick me up.

Since you know what foundations you like and the color, why won't you order it online?

@monicakm I will.  I just prefer walking into the store to get it.  If you remember, I was originally concerned they were discontinuing it since I'm the kiss of death for most things I like.  I even contacted Nars and they said they were not discontinuing it.  It could just be that my Sephora is a smaller store. Not as small as the one in Kohls, but smallish nonetheless.

I currently have new Nars, so new that I can't put the pump in it withouth the foundation overflowing, and I've used it a few times.  They really fill that bottle full.

Is the Estee L drying or cakey looking?

I use Estee Lauder foundation but for my dry skin I like their FUTURIST product.  I found the Double Wear to drying for me.

I'd say my skin is not overly dry, just on the dry side.

I love Double Wear! In winter my skin skews dry so I just use a richer moisturizer. You can also sheer it out as well. I was very impressed with Clinique serum foundation as a runner-up. But as close as my Double Wear.

Re: Best high end foundations

Right now I am loving

Il Makaige-perfect color match for me!

LancomeTeint Idole-great coverage, yet natural looking

RMS-great coverage, but right now my face has more color from summer, so the color match is a bit off...

I plan to try Lady Gag's Haus Lab foundation as I received a generaous sample, and loved it!! But right now I do not need to replenish.
