Where I live the weather gets so hot that my make up melts off my face. Am thinking about a make up primer. There are SO many to choose from! Need one for combination skin, that absorbs oil, won't cause breakouts. Any suggestions?

I'm very oily and have tried a dozen mattifying primers. My top three are:
Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector (very important to pat and dab this one on, do not swipe it on)
Jouer Matte Moisture Tint (this is a tinted moisturizer with pretty good coverage and very mattifyiing, I use it as a primer or even alone in the summer)
Rimmel Stay Matte Primer
I know you didn't ask about foundation but that can make a big difference. Becca recently launched a new foundation that is uber matte, Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme. I did not like it but might be worth a sample if you live near a Sephora. Another matte, long lasting foundation is Kat Von D Lock It. Both of these are also high coverage. A favorite of mine for summer is Hourlgass Immaculater Powder Liquid foundation. At the drug store level, I think Cover Girl Outlast 3 in 1 is the most mattifying.

Hi LuluCCS, thanks bunches for your suggestions. There is a Sephora near me, there's als an Ulta as well. In the heat, am not thrilled with either having to go without facial make up (mascara only) or reapplying my make up. Will gladly check into your suggestions.
For foundation, I use either it Cosmetics BB cream or Mary Kay mineral powder followed by Mary Kay mineral veil. In the Autumn and Winter those are enough to keep my face looking fresh all day. It's the ruddy blazing hot Texas summer that does me in.

Hi, TH!
I have oily skin which "eats" my MU unless I use some tricks. You asked about primers, but I'd also like to suggest using a facial mist to "set" your MU. Urban Decay makes several. The one I like for oily skin is Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray. UD also makes an awesome blotting powder De-Slick Mattifying Powder.
My #1 favorite primer for years was Make Up Forever HD Primer. Loved it!
I'm constantly playing around and recently bought Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer which I think is going to be a winner.
I also bought blu_ray Activating Face Primer by Cargo because it is silicone-free. I hate silicones!

Forgot. I used a sample of Murad Acne Complex Oil-Control Mattifier. I don't have acne, but I used this on my t-zone. A little goes a long way. I put this on top of my primer for added oomph.
Also, LG has a nice primer geared for our skin type. She also has a setting spray.
Good luck! Texas would be waaaay too hot for me....lol. Anything over 85 with high humidity and I melt, like the bad witch in Oz.

I've used Monistat Chafing Relief Gel Powder with very good results. It's very inexepensive, too - about $7-$8 a tube. Even so, I really wanted to try IT Cosmetics No. 50. I really like it a lot, but can't comment yet on how it works in hot, humid weather.

Hi JLF! I also have IT's #50. It provides a great canvas for MU application. Love it, but I've found I have to use some sort of mattifying product in addition to it. But then, I react strongly to heat and/or humidity and sweat easily.

I use and love L'Oreal's Pore Vanisher. Added perk......it's available in drugstores.
