I know many of you have raved over the Beekman soaps, lotions, etc. In fact I caved and ordered the special they had a couple of weeks ago.

I expected more moisture. I have dry skin and have used many lotions & potions in my 60 years. While I'm not dissing the soaps because I want to give them a fair chance by using them more, I find the lotion & hand cream lacking. After applying, my skin still felt dry. The lip balms, while nice, did not impress me anymore than some that I can buy at the drugstore.

As far as scent, the Cream has a wonderful vanilla scent, but I could hardly detect a scent in the apricot, which I was really looking forward to most!

Am I the only one with a less than stellar experience with these products?

I only have the soap, was using it in the shower & did like it, so I tried it on my face, with make-up on (previously used Purity) no make-up on the towel when I dried, so it did a good job, & my skin felt moisturized & soft, I had oily skin when younger buy now dry.

I will continue to use their products, have not opened the "value" box yet so I can't tell about any of the other products.

Sorry they didn't work for you

I have not tried all their products so I can't comment on everything but I will say it is just like anything else mentioned on these boards- not everything is going to work well for everyone.

Our family likes the soaps. My husband uses bar soaps and we try new ones all the time but these are now his favorite and wants me to only buy these. I do not use bar soaps personally but I have tried them a few times and really like them as well. I prefer liquid body soaps though so I will stick with my liquid soaps. My husband is also happy they aren't overly scented- he appreciates the mild scents in them, as do I.

I like the hand creams but not any more or less than a few others I've tried, like L'occitaine. However, these are cruelty free wherears many others, like L'occitaine, are not so I am happy about that. Plus I like what the Beekman company stands for and all they do for the local community and artisans.

I have not tried the body lotions so I can't comment on those.

The Beekman liquid hand soap is my favorite hand soaps I've tried to date. I buy new brands of hand soaps all the time becaause I am an obsessive hand washer and most dry my hands out but these do not. So the liquid hands soaps are something I will continue to buy indefinitely.  The scents are all fantastic too!

I have tried the lip balms and like them. I dont' think I'd buy them on their own at regular price but if they are included in a kit that is a good price then I am always happy to have them.

Their goat's milk caramels are really yummy, lol.

I have purchased two sets of Beekman's liquid soaps from Evine. Both sets were poorly packed so the dispenser tops had popped up and were leaking. They were rolling around in a cardboard box with no padding or packing materials. The Absolute Vanilla was a disappointment. To me "absolute" means pure and I expected a warm vanilla scent like Philosophy's warm cream. Instead Beekman's vanilla has a strong floral note that is not to my taste.

Love the Beekman soaps - I actually appreciate the mild scent - hate scents that are overebearing.  As for moisture - I find I don't really have to moisturize after using the soaps.  But when I do - I use Argan body butter - you just can't beat it to keep moisture in your skin.

JMO - I know everyone is different, but I did not like my Beekman purchase and returned it.

Thanks for all your thoughts & opinions! I decided to take a bath tonight and use the soap and lotion again. Maybe it's my old nose, but I do not detect a scent. I understand those of you who do not like a strong scent, but I am one that loves my soaps & lotions to be scented! Now the Cream scented hand cream has a lovely soft scent.

After bathing and taking more time with the soap, unlike my usual quick showers, I can understand why people like them. They are very soft and the lather is like a cream . Using the lotion again, I am not that impressed with it.

I haven't tried Josie's body cream yet, that will probably be my next order.  Korres is ok and I've found some really good Perlier creams that I'm crazy about.

Of course, like many of you, reading all the raves on a product makes me want to try it. I'm not sure yet if I'll keep it. I'll give it a fair shot and will see.

I just ordered the rose soap and hand cream. I have very dry skin and was hoping this would be my hg of soap and hand cream. I have to say it is not near as moisturizing as some of the reviews stated. It leaves my skin tight and dry feeling and the hand cream is just ok. I do however love love love the scent. I will not re order.

I also purchased the today's special on evine live a week or so ago.  Was really excited to get it and try their products.

First, let me say how wonderfully packaged mine was, everything in tact, looked very pretty.  I checked it all out and put on a lip balm right away - it was nice.

Yesterday I finally tried one of the soaps.  he bars are huge so that makes them nice right out of the box.  Lathered beautifully but I will say my skin felt a bit dry I thought afterwards.  I used the apricot honey tea.  The box had the only body lotion to match this same fragrance so of course I used this.  I really like the lotion - my skin felt very nice.  I will the other soap, old fashioned rose but I'll have to use my own body lotion with it.  The third bar of soap I gave to my husband for his s hower - he'll open it as soon as he's ready for a new bar.  I've not tried the hand cream yet although I s hould - my hands are always dry.  And I will use the lip balms.

So for me, the jury's still out.  Not at all sure I'll buy more soap in the future.

The reviews seems varied on Beekman products. I have not bought any because I already use other brands that I am happy with. I don't like heavy flower scents.
