Oil is oil. There's nothing inherently wrong with mineral oil! simply a selling point that somebody thought was cleverWhile I agree with you that nothing is inherently wrong with mineral oil, I disagree that oil is oil as not all oils are created equally. Some contain more Fatty acids in various combinations- some higher in omega 3's, some higher in omega 6's and some higher in omega 9's or a nice combo of both or all three. Others may contain higher levels of Vitamin A, Vitamin E, or even Vitamin C while others may contain none. And then some oils simply act as barriers and have no real skincare benefits besides that function.
I personally don't have a problem with mineral oil in my products.
I agree mineral oil isn't bad, per se...but it is cheap! So I would expect a product line made with it to reflect that by its price... also the boys make a big deal about petroleum by products in soap (rainbow bubbles) so there appears to be something incongruent in the sales pitch downing petroleum in soap but then using it in their hand cream...
ps I like their hand cream (the scents are great!) and my new fave neck cream Gold Bond firming has mineral oil so not being snobby about it at all...
I agree with you @HappyDaze all oils are not the same...many are much better in regards to vitamins/omegas and are skin loving (something mineral oil is not)

I always say why do vendors always brag if there is NO mineral oil or petro chemicals in their oroducts and if they are in there, they never mention it? Must be a good reason.

Yes, @tucsongal, it's completely normal. The Vanilla Absolute bar soap is that way too. It comes from the coloring of the vanilla beans.

@Krissy_1968I agree it is a cheap ingredient but so is a lot of other ingredients expensive brands often use. Talc is an example -look how often it is the first or second ingredient in eye shadows and powder foundations on some of the priciest brands! Crazy, eh?

Thanks Andreatoo and JeanLouise for your responses about the Vanilla Absolute coloring. I figured it was normal but I've never seen a lotion that color before. I don't really use hand cream that much(still have a big L'Occitane partially used from years ago), but I like to carry a small tube in the car. This one seems nice.

ITA Oil is not Oil. They are not equal that's for sure since there are some better then others. The problem for me with mineral oil is it causes your skin to be dry so you have to keep re-applying the lotion. If the mineral oil is not in the product you will have less dryness or I seem to.
The Beekman Boys even say this during their visits.

I do hope they get rid of the mineral oil in all their products that have it now. I don't find their products drying at all. Actually I find it quite the opposite and my skin is very hydrated and soft. My cuticles and nails have never looked this good! To

@Nightowlz I have never had the drying issue you refer to when using products with mineral oil but the things I use that have mineral oil also have other moisturizing ingredients. The mineral oil creates a little barrier that actually helps prevent moisture loss from your skin. I suppose if you use something that doesn't also contain moisturizing properties and your skin is already dry, the mineral oil won't really do much for you.

About a year ago, I received their hand cream trio. Total waste of money. Did nothing to hydrate my skin. Gave the other two away to my DD & DS.
