When you visit a store what are the samples you like to take home and try? Do you buy usually what you sample?

I only get samples for things I am seriously considering buying and that I've done some research on beforehand. It pretty much always foundation so I can make sure I get the correct shade and to see the coverage, finish, feel, etc. For example, this is how I figured out Josie Maran's matchmaker fair foundation worked well for me and I ended up buying a full size. It is also how I tried Perricone's no foundation SERUM and realized I liked it much better than his original no foundation (too sticky) but the color was too dark so I need to wait until they come out with a lighter shade before I buy the full size.

I use to get skincare samples too but these days, the only real skincare may be a sunscreen since I already have a routine down I am happy with.

I'd say about half of the time I try samples, I end up buying the full size.

I don't usually take samples anymore. I like the idea but I almost never use them & they just clutter up my living space.

I really only want a sample if I am interested in the product & want to try it before buying. They rarely have samples of those items anywhere.

I take all samples and try them and I have found some nice things........but since TSV perricone I love his products so I don't need other skin care samples. I love mascara and lips stick samples but they are hard to come by.

I like samples of skincare, foundation and perfume. I have purchased products I've tried, but not always. Getting samples is not always easy though, even if you have made a purchase. Some stores can be extremely stingy.

I went to Sephora today to get samples of peels. That way I can try before I buy. That is the one benefit I see at Sephora over Ulta.

About a month ago when checking out at Sephora the clerk offered me and either/or sample and I asked if I could have both. She gave me both. The perfume was a no but the eye highlighter from BareMinerlas is a yes and I will buy.

I'll always get a sample of any face makeup (since my skin is super sensitive) especially foundations or powders. If I'm just ordering from Sephora or Ulta online I'll usually just get perfume samples to try out.

Like HD, I too do a lot of research before purchasing a product so a majority of the time the products work well for me.

I love getting samples and I do try them. I do a lot of traveling for my job, and my work travel involves inspections, many of which take place outdoors. As you can imagine, all the different climates and water in different areas, not to mention airplane air and wonky hours, can wreak havoc on my hair and skin. I toss all my samples in my travel bag and use them when I'm on an assignment. I figure if any products stand out when I'm up to my knees in mud and experiencing the joys of hard hat hair, they deserve some serious consideration when I get home. Smiley Happy
