Beauty Purchases This Week; 2/29/24

[ Edited ]

Happy Leap Day!  Let us know what you purchased this past week, if you've tried it, if it's a new to you item or maybe it's a tried and true favorite.

Here's my list:

Naturium:  I like this brand a lot.  The products seem to work for me.  I bought the Retinol Complex Serum and the Niacinamide serum.  Have used the Retinol serum in the past without any issues and now going back to it after trying something else for a while.  The Niacinamde is a repeat purchase.  Thought I was running low so ordered another one.

Maybelline - As I mentioned in another post, I bought the Fit Me loose powder in Light.  Love it!  Was placing an order on Amazon so ordered the Fit Me powder compact in Classic Ivory.  Wanted the compact so I could take the powder with me if I wanted to.

MAC - single eyeshadow in Orb.  This is a very light peach shade.  I like it as a one and done lid shade.

Catrice - Saw someone on YT use this and it seemed to work really well so ordered from Amazon the Under Eye Brightener in Light Rose.  Seems peachy in tone to me not pink but they call it light rose.  Haven't tried it yet.

ELF - Used to have it, decluttered it, but wanted to try it again so picked up the Halo Glow Filter or whatever it's called, in light.  Used it mixed in with my foundation the other day and liked it that way a lot. Will do it that way again.

Perlier - Yesterday I purchased the TS from HSN.  The Black Rice Hyaluronic Serum, the Night Eye Serum, and the Hyaluronic booster.  All these are new to me products.

Looking forward to reading everyone's posts.  If you are in Northern CA, please be safe the next few days with the storms coming through.  Sounds like we're going to get hit pretty hard.   Be well all!

I purchased two of the Josie Maran TSV's, one citrus lavender and one peach pear.  They haven't arrived yet, but will post an update about what I think of the scents.😃

@JudyL  I have been thinking about trying the Natrium line. Which products do you suggest and how do you use them? AM/PM?

Thank you

I ordered Josie TSV in the Vanilla Bean during the first hour it was on. This morning I checked the status on it and it was on backorder Smiley Sad I just cancelled my order. Really didn't need that large of a tub anyways. But I did order her Sugar Scrub in the Vanilla Bean. I have never tried her scrubs. Can't wait to get it. Smiley Very Happy

@Squirt60  - I use the Retinol Complex Serum and the Niacinamide.  Use both at night.  I've had no irritation from either products.  Forgot to add:  I also use the Tranexamic Acid, which works on hyperpigmentation, etc., and the Multi-Peptide Advanced Serum.  Like both of these also.  The Tranexamic Serum I haven't been using long enough to give a review yet.  The Peptide Serum I've been using since January and I like it.  It feels nice going on, absorbs quickly.  Both the Tranexamic Serum and Peptide Serum, I use in the morning.  I use a lot of products so can't say which one works better than others, but for 69-1/2, I think my skin looks good and I'm told that I don't look my age - gotta like that!

Bought La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Triple Repair moisturizer. Sent it back two days later. Greasy, and if I rubbed my face it would ball up and shed little balls of whatever. Thank goodness for Amazon. I was just wearing it around the house with no makeup.

Josie Maran TSV's just arrived.  The Lavender Citrus is VERY heavy on the lavender (medicinal) and light on the citrus.  I was really hoping the lavender would be more secondary as described, but I guess I'll keep it.

The Peach Pear honestly is such a light scent, I can't really smell either fruit.  I do smell vanilla.  Guess I'll keep this one too, but I am disappointed she didn't offer these larger sizes in tried and true favorites like Sweet Citrus.

Here's my list for the week...

Room Darkening Eye Mask - bought an inexpensive one from Amazon and it works quite well.  Soft and no gaps.

Perlier Mega Size Hyaluronic Acid Gel A/S (the TS)  - nice price for a big size.  I've used this in the past, thought I could live without it but changed my mind when it showed up on a deal with autoship.

Perlier Black Rice Day Cream A/S - I’ve used this before and liked it.  I stopped when I had an abundance of products in inventory.  The sale price with autoship was too good to pass up.

Perlier Black Rice Platinum Ultra Booster A/S - revisiting this product.

Perlier Black Rice Triple Size Night Eye Contour Serum -  This is a PM staple for me.  I already have three unopened tubes in my stash so I just bought one.

Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder - shade choice is always a guessing game for me. I chose two and neither worked.  Besides that, it seemed to have an uneven application and was drying on my face. I’m guessing that’s from the talc.  I returned both and will stick with Laura Geller or Pur Minerals.

I picked up Josie's Daily Moisturizer 47 SPF. Used it years ago and I liked the lightness of it.  I find the IT CC, etc. way too heavy and opaque for what i like.
