Beauty Purchases; 8/18/22

[ Edited ]

Good morning!  I can't believe we are already in the middle of August.  Let us know what you purchased this week and if you like it or if you don't and also if it's a new to you or a re-purchase.

Here's my list:

Laura Geller - Ordered on Aug 6 and it just shipped this morning.  There was a hold up because a product was out of stock so I cancelled the one item and had them ship the rest.  Ordered Just Swipe Cream Eyeshadow in Shell and Cocoa and Serum Blush Cheek Tint in Poppy Peach

Timeless Skin Care - Vit C - it's a staple for me.

TARTE - bought two travel size concealers to try - hydrocealer concealer and the power flex concealer

ULTA - Was having an online Diamond appreciation day so got extra points on my purchases.  Went to ULTA and checked out shades, etc., and then came home and ordered.  Tarte Eye Smothies Cream Shadow in Mauve.  Have this in Copper Rose and love it and this Mauve shade is so pretty; NYX Milky Gloss Milshakes lip gloses but I can't remember the name - Ube maybe; Bare Minerals - original Mineral Veil. Used to use this so many years ago; Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - this is one concealer I haven't tried yet and someone mentioned it here and used the BM Mineral Veil together so thought I would try it.  Still trying to find the right combination.....

QVC - Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue duo in Cashew.  So looking forward to trying this.

Charlotte Tilbury - Ordered from her website the new cream bronzer - thanks to @monicakm for her rave review.  Looking forward to getting this.

Hope everyone is doing well.  As always, looking forward to reading everyone's posts.

@JudyL   Hi Judy,  I decided to go back to my prior skin care with Mario Badescu.  The Buttermilk moisturizer absorbs quickly hydrating my skin and also makes it instantly soft.  It also has Lactic Acid.

@Katcat1 - I've heard good things about the Mario Badescu line.  Have tried his facial sprays and like those.

I never stopped using the facial sprays.  Hia products for most part are reasonably priced.  I sampled quite a few of his skincare -- you won't be disappointed if you decide to try a product.  Mario was a chemist and came to the U.S. from Europe.

Happy Thursday, Beauties!  It looks like you had had a good week, @JudyL.

My goodies this past week have been:

Anti-aging Extracts Green Tea Extract (cosmeceutical grade) - bought as recommended for a pretreatment to RLT treatments.

Tweezerman Tweezer (mini size) - I lost my tweezer that I've had for years. I was in TJMAXX yesterday and found this one.

Kiss Fake Nails  - short length-  2 sets - One is a nude/natural with French tip and the other is a rosy mauve color.  I just put the nude set on and sent DD a picture. She said they look pretty. I don't know how long I'll be bake to tolerate them.

Superstrong Nail Bond  nail glue - it has a gazillion great reviews on Amazon and a friend recommended it.

Hearing Aid Drying Box - the one I've had for many years suddenly stopped working so a replacement was in order.

I ordered some rose lip balm from Mario Badescu. The balms are given good reviews, many say they're similar to glosses. On sale with free shopping. Should arrive by Monday.

My Nomad eyeshadow will be arriving today or tomorrow at the latest.

I also bought the same green tea extract as @JeanLouiseFinch did. I'm applying it straight, with nothing mixed in with it and applying it before my red light therapy treatments. The extract contains a little bit of glycerin so it's very moisturizing. I like it under my tretinoin, blends nicely with that and in the morning my faces feels soft.

My only purchase this week is the Anti-Aging Extracts green tea extract.  Hasn't arrived but is a new product for me.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

I've tried Tree Hut, Dove, Josie Maran, and Dove body scrubs but I like Dr TEALS the best. Dove's had a harsher consistency, Josie's was to expensive (tho very nice) and Tree Hut 127F5253-2D87-4EB8-9083-733A917495D7.pnghad sugar granules that were to large for me. Dr Teals reminds me of Josies but with less oil. Plus it's 19 oz. and a lot cheaper.

I haven't been buying anything much at all lately so thought I had no contributions to this thread. And then I remembered that I saw a dermatologist for a much, much overdue check-up. Oh lordy! Had to wait 8+ days to find out I didn't have melanoma. The 6 or so spots I pointed out were of no concern to him. But he sees this little spot in the middle of my chest that he doesn't like...I never even noticed it! Geez, I am the absolute Queen of Scarring when it comes to biopsies so my days of wearing V-necks may be coming to an end  As a side note, can anyone truly recommend something to reduce scarring from a shave biopsy? FWIW, doctor's nurse had no suggestions.

Anyway, I totally digress. Over the last two plus years I've been diligent using all different kinds of over the counter retinols. My skin is very sensitive and I had to work up to using even those. Decided I would ask for a trentinoin prescription from the derm since I was there and give it a whirl. I got an .025 strength and paid $35.22 for it at CVS. I was expecting to pay much more and thought that was a deal!!!

So far I've used it twice with no adverse reactions. But I'm going to go sloooooooow! I never enjoy burning my face off. LOL!
