Beauty Experts Need Your Help With Eye Primer

Hi girls. I have been having a problem with my eyeliner disappearing. Based on your advice, I am trying a Clinique primer for eyelids (called Canvass I think). I am 55 and I think my eye area gets oily and off comes the liner. Anyway, yesterday I went to the Clinique counter and got Canvass. My question is this ... the primer is kind of light. Will my eye shadow show it's true color (normally darker than the Canvass, i.e. a light bronze with a darker crease color) or will it be changed significantly by the primer?

I am wondering if I should go with a more nude color primer. What is your opinion beauty experts? I would appreciate your prompt reply as I have to take it back today.
