I used to get Fun Fit fab and really liked it until the products starting getting redundant and many nothing I would use. I switched to Cause Box this Winter and wow, so much of the same stuff I got on the Fab Fit and Fun from two years ago.
I just opted out, I guess I will spend my money where i want to

I've seen many of these beauty boxes advertised and have been tempted to purchase. The reason I've never did it was because I always figured that they would most likely include items that I would never use.
After reading your post, I'm very happy that I never got into them. I have enough duplicate beauty products as it is already.

In the past I subscribed to Ipsy, Sephora Play, Allure, Macys, Walmart, and Target ( not at the same time). I realized I was wasting my money, I rather buy myself something I want.

I get BoxyCharm and BoxyCharm Luxe (4 times a year) and I think it's worth it. You get all full sized products and while I don't love everything, I've liked way more than I haven't and the value is always a lot more than the price of the box. You get to chose one product each box and there's a questionaire that you fill out and I think they stick to it pretty well as far as your preferences and your skin tone, etc.
I also really like their add-ons and pop ups. You can pick up things for a fraction of the price. For example, I got the Fresh Soy Cleanser in my box one time and loved it and was able to pick it up again later as an add-on for a fraction of the price. You can also pick up things that you didn't get in your box for a huge savings.
I've also tried Sephora Play, Allure Beauty Box, Target Beauty Box and Rachel Zoe's Box of Style. BoxyCharm is the only one I've stuck with for more than a year. However, I'm one that loves makeup and skin products and always likes to try new and different things. I love to experiment with different colors, brands, etc., so it's worth it for me. If you're not a makeup/skincare junkie then I wouldn't recommend it.
Rachel Zoe's box had some nice beauty/fashion/jewelry selections that I really liked but overall it wasn't worth it to me. Sephora's box is all sample sized products and definitely not worth it.
I think subscriptions are nice if you can afford it and like to try new products. I look forward to getting a new box every month and trying things that I probably never would try. There are so many new products being introduced every day that it's impossible to keep up. As long as I end up liking and using products that are worth more than the price of the box, I'm good.

I used to get one of these beautiy boxes, an inexpensive one, for about 2 years, and it was terribly fun to get them in the mail. Occasionally, but not often, I would actually use something but mostly, no. They were just a waste of money. I finally just gathered everyrthing up and brought them to work and the ladies there had fun making their selections! Since retiring, and especially since the virus, I rarely use any makeup, so it wouldn't really pay me to get them. If I need something or I decide a product catches my eye, I will just buy it.

I have done Ipsy in the past and it was a waste of money for me so I stopped.
I have gotten Fab Fit Fun and been very happy with what I received. The summer box I received was the best I've rec'd to date. I have used or will use every single produt that was in that box. Most times there are a dud or two for me that I either give to someone else or donate. Maybe this is true for all boxes but I know for FFF, there are always Youtube videos with spoilers of the upcoming box contents so you can choose whether you want it or not. I chose not to get the upcoming Fall box because there were too many products I didn't want.
A Youtuber I watch once said something about these boxes and said whether they are worth it or not depends on how you view the values. If you are the type of person that has to love every single product you get in the boxes, regardless of the fact that you might only use a couple that are valued at more than the price of the box, these boxes aren't for you. If you are the type of person who is happy if you will use a few products because they are valued at more than the cost of the entire box, you will be happy with the box.
I am the type of person who wants to like all the products so most boxes aren't for me. I'd rather take the money and use it for items I know I'll like and use.

The only one I get is Macy's. I like it most of the time. Every so often there is a dud product, but for the most part I enjoy it. They stopped doing them for the time being due to Covid.....I miss getting mine each month!

I get the Walmart beauty box. It's inexpensive, but fun to get. I think its 4 times a year. It's just fun getting little surprises every now and then. I'm thinking about getting the Target one, as well. Plus, they sometimes give coupons for the products.

I just recently signed up for the Walmart box, too.
I signed up for it in order to receive the Spring box, and now I'm waiting for the next box, which is supposed to be the Summer box.
I also have enjoyed receiving the box so far.
I think that you're supposed to get at least one full-sized product in it, and the rest were really nice sized products as well.
I'll try and get a Target box when there's something in it that I like.
I don't pick them up regularly like monthly, but only when there are items in it where I feel that there are mostly items in it that I really want to try.

I like Allure's a lot. I get some good products to try from them.
