BE counter @ Macy's

I was at the BE counter yesterday @ Macy's and the mu talked me into trying the foundation again. I haven't used in a year or so. I told her I didnt like the coverage with it and itched with the reqular. She used the matte and explained I need to use more product and really swirl it in brush, tap and buff. Well, when she was done it looked really nice, no red areas, looked flawless. She also used summer bisque and changed my color to fairly light from med. beige that I used in the past. Well, I am 55 yrs and have dry skin. I thought I would love going back to this mu but after I got home & looked in the mirror I was horrified...I saw my lines & wrinkles and it looked dry on my skin. I'm not sure what to do! Has anyone else run into this problem?
