Just for kicks I tried applying primer with a brush...epic fail. Won't be doing that again!

Did you dab it on your face first with a finger? ...and then use a brush to buff it around?

@SilleeMee @No, I just applied it to the brush. Perhaps if I put it on the way you suggested it might work.   I will try that way and see how that works! Off topic...I wore a nice red lip and that worked! ( or so I thought)😊
