My Palovia died out on me and I was so upset.   I have the Tria eye laser, but I use it mostly around my lip area.

I would be upset, too, if my Palo died! I love it so much that I bought three of them before they went out of business.

 I use my Palovia around my mouth...hate my vertical lines Does the Tria help with your mouth area...lines? 

I also have the Tria Age Defying Laser. I use that around my mouth sometimes but mostly on my neck and dec. It really works well there!

Aside from the size, how is this tri different from the larger tria laser?

There is no difference in the technology. Both use fraxel lasers. Today's TSV is simply smaller and is not designed to cover larger areas like their larger model ADL. I suppose you could use it all over but it would take longer and probably shorten the life of the device.
