with their skincare routine , you cleanse , put your treatments on and think how renewed you look , then look in the mirror a half hour later and look wrinkled and older than you did. No shade to any particular line , but i think for me ,sodium hyaluronate as a base in some of these formulas works in reverse for me , i remember using isomers that was 3 forms of it only made me look more wrinkled instead of hydrated , is it just me or anyone else have this happen ?

HA can draw the moisture out of your skin-a reverse of the intended results; it seems to happen I think when when air is dry? This has been discussed here-sorry for my confusion.
How do you feel w/out HA in product just hydration? There should be a noticeable difference. Try w/out the HA for a week to make a comparison.

I think what i have noticed , that some of these anti aging ingredients are actually doing the opposite , i realize it varies from person to person.

@MW in Iowa Some products like Retin A, those w/ acids, etc. when used in combination will dry or irritate skin. Then if you’re exfoliating w/ Clarisonic or with a product that has beads/seeds...it becomes overkill. It may not be just 1 product. Check the combination of skincare products you’re using.

Pond's cold cream is the only product that keeps my skin happy.

Anything that says "firming" or "tightening" or "toning" just seems to make me look old &
dry.

What helped my skin the most was 1) finding cleansers that did not strip my skin and 2) using a very gentle physical exfoliant every day [ I think typical scrubs are much too harsh for mature skin]
It seems my skin needs products with more active ingredients but at the same time they can’t be too strong. A fine line to walk.

@maestra Yes, you are correct. Hyaluronic Acid actually pulls moisture out of the air to hydrate your skin. So, when the moisture in the air is dry, it actually pulls moisture out of your skin.

I've wanted to post this question for a long time, but I know there are some ladies on here that are very serious about their skin care. For me it's hit and miss. Once in awhile I'll get serious
