Anyone else's skin burn after applying Josie Maran's argan milk?

I read quite a few reviews where people complained of this but thought they were outliers. What the heck is in it that would cause that for some people? I got a sample of it from my sephora today and just tried it and my skin started burning really bad, so much so I had to wash it off! I used argan oil with no problems so I wonder what ingredient could possibly cause this since the ingredient list is pretty short and I can't really identify anything in particular that can be an irritant.

Stop using it and toss in the trash. Not worth the irritation. Could be a combo of ingredients or the ph levels. Have you looked it up on Beautypedia?

I just tried it the one time and it was only a sample, fortunately, but yes, the remainder went in the trash.

I didn't see the argan milk at Beautypedia.

Yes, this happened to me just last night. I received a sample from Sephora and I'm glad I tried it before buying the full size. I also did not care for the sticky feeling - wanted to wash it off right away. Read the reviews at Sephora, they aren't as glowing as the ones here. Also they mention additional ingredients besides oil and water.

I wonder if they have a bad group of samples? For sure don't apply it again.

Anyway, I bought my full sized bottle through QVC and have not had a problem. That said, I have used most of my original bottle and I'm not sure it has really improved much about my skin. I love many of her products, but for me this will not be a reorder.

FYI: It is reviewed under "new products" and Paula gave it a "best" rating. I got a sample also from Sephora but haven't tried it yet.

HD, are you able to use her regular argan oil?

Do you think it may not have mixed well with a cleanser or serum you used beforehand?

I've had the opposite effect-soothing and calming. I really like it. I watched the video and saw I wasn't even applying it right. Josie puts it in her palms and pats the face with it. Good, it's kind of costly and goes pretty fast.

Yes, as said in my OP, I've used argan oil (hers as well as others) without any issues. I will still occasionally use it to soothe my skin.

The only thing I did prior to using it was wash my face off with her new cleansing oil. My face felt calm and soft after I washed my face with the cleansing oil. About a 20 minutes later, I applied the argan oil milk to bare skin and instantly got a reaction. My face even turned slightly splotchy red. I rinsed it off a few minutes later because it kept burning. Once i washed it off, my face felt better and the redness/blotchiness calmed down and my skin went back to normal.

I'm glad your skin recovered so fast, HD!

I just looked up the ingredients again...propanedoil is the suspect: (What else could it possibly be? It is not in the cleansing oil.)

"Controversy 1- because Propanediol is from corn it is claimed to be natural. Chemically speaking this molecule is not natural and human technology manipulated bacteria and genetically modified corn to make a synthetic structure. To me this is like plastic grass, it looks natural but its essence is not."

When she says just argan oil and water....!
