Re: Anyone else have one bad brow ?

I am missing more hair on my left brow toward the front than my right brow and that's due to overplucking when I was in my 20s.

One thing that happens as you get older is brow hairs can grow too long and grow in wonky and wiry. It's helpful to trim too long hairs. Use a brow/comb brush and a pair of brow scissors or a small pair of scissors and comb the hairs upward and trim the too long hairs. Take your time doing this. You'll be surprised at how much better you brows look when you trim hairs that are too long. Brow wax or brow mascara can help tame those wiry hairs too.

Re: Anyone else have one bad brow ?

This is going to sound weird but back in high school many years ago I was kinda known for having really good eyebrows.  I know ..... weird...huh?

Anyway, I never had to do much to them, they were just shaped natural and I never went for the skinny look anyway.

Even now when I meet up with friends from high school on face book they talk about my eyebrows.

So, I'm leading up to a boo hoo....as time has gone on (due to my thyroid and age) I don't have hair on my arms, legs and it's thin right in the front of my head (I wear a wig).

I started noticing my eyebrows getting thin and like my hair turning gray (I'm 71 soon).  The 'tails' of my brows started getting sparse.

I found a wonderful eyebrow not a brush (more like a small wand) that I use.  It's by BENEFIT and even though I have naturally brown hair I wear a blondish brown (mostly blonde wig).  I use the lightest color of this Benefit eyebrow makeup.  It has tiny hairs in the tube.  It colors the gray and makes my eyebrows look very, very normal.  I recommend people try it.

I have had trouble finding it but I did find it at Ulta in the Benefit section.  Like I said it has tiny hairs that adhere to my brows.  It doesn't look drawn on like a pencil does.  I started using it from HSN when they had it on.  I don't know if they still sell it, if they do get it there because it's easy to return it if you don't like it.

Anyway, thought I'd tell you about MY good find.  Getting old stinks doesn't it?  Ha!

Re: Anyone else have one bad brow ?

For brows needing help - the angles have sent us the best solution known to brows..............IT'S......IT.   Jamie's IT skinny pencil is absolutely the answer to my problem which is/was a few bare spots.  The skinny pencil, in short strokes like she says, quickly and naturally does the job because it blends in between natural brow hairs.  Usually 2 pencils for ???? $30 perhaps.  I buy 'sets' at a time so never without them.

Re: Anyone else have one bad brow ?

Kitty Galore, I really enjoyed your post! (And I could care less that you didn't use several paragraphs!). I had really nice brows until a couple of years ago - that's when my right brow went wonkers on its own! The left one lies nice and arched and flat - the right one is another story. I'm 69 and will try the Chapstick idea to tame it! I deal with my misaligned brow and have no need to have it professionally perfected (except for my hair stylist who occasionally tells me she'll trim my wild right brow)! For those of you who do - go for it!

I know all too well. It used to bother me. I was mugged when I was in my early 20s and I was thrown to the curb face first. The Doctor sewed my face back together but in doing so - I had one eyebrow have the hairs going in numerous directions because of the stitches.

For years I went to an electrolysis trying to get some order in my brow. She did a decent job but I finally gave up. I bought many eyebrow products and spent a small fortune. I finally gave up.

Have not touched my eyebrows in years. I try and buy eyeglasses that has the frame covering the eyebrows. It saves me time and trouble.

@drizzellla. I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to you ,  how horrible it had to have been ,  bless your heart.    Feel silly worring about my crazy brow when others lime yourself have had tramatic things happen to them with brows being the least if it .    Eyeglasses as a frame is a very smart idea .  I do that with sunglasses .

Kitty Galore - I am past feeling bad about it. In fact only 2 people know about it.

It happened so long ago, that I don't really notice, until I try and buy new glasses. It is like painting a room and not caring for the shade. But wait a few weeks and you don't notice the shade anymore.

But you know what, I am going to dig out my Anatasia Eyebrow Kit. and several of the other kits. I am now retired (2 months). Maybe it is time to make an effort again - I have plenty of time.

when I was younger both brows were very well shaped and have always worn them thicker and natural except one time in my early 20's when I tweeted them real thin ,  was more the style then.  I find in the last couple of years my left brow had wonky hours as I call them.  They don't grow smooth ,  or comb nice and curved as they used to . The hairs on that brow are stubborn I would say.  At times if I groom tnem just right the Brow will look just right .  My right brow is perfect!  I know brows are it twins , but sisters ,  but it is very frustrating.  I gave dark brown brows and use It cosmetics brow pencil and find it harsh sometimes even though I do brush on a powder over the pencil which used to work great.  Does anyone have this problem?  I'm thinking of having the girl who highlights my hair do my brows,  she does offer this service and is very good , her brows are beautiful as well.  Maybe just need at better brow product or wax.

@Kitty Galore  Ah Kitty, I think most of us find brows and brow products a mystery. My hairdresser colors mine (makes the hairs thicker) but keeps them in the taupe range now that hair is white. She has me using hair gel w/ a kid's toothbrush on them at night to "train" the wayward hairs back in line. After several months, beginning to work.

For making them up, I use Anastasia brow wax first (neutral shade) and a powder shadow over it. Shadow adheres to the wax. Finally (btw, this all is not an every day deal, just when going out) I fill in IT Brow pencil...one shade for all.

That's the hitch w/ brows. Those darn brow products. Am I a taupe, or should I go light or Med. brown. It makes me crazy. That IT pencil goes to any shade depending on amount of pressure you apply. No more decisions.

When you find that better brow product, please post it.  I think I own one of everything Amazon sells looking for it.  My left brown is especially skimpy and I have a chicken pox scar right in the middle of it on which a brown pencil catches.  It's a real challenge.

@Kachina624. If I ever find one I will be sure to let you know.  Had no idea so many had this problem.  It's not the end if the world but it sure would be nice to solve it . Btw I have always wanted to tell you that your collie is just beautiful !!  His/her name?  Cat Happy

@Kitty Galore  Thanks, his name was Jett as in jet black.  I lost him in November 2015, when he lost the use of his back legs.  Lost another collie that month too, and a Collie and an Aussie this year.  All were very old.

I am intrigued by the mention of a Benefit product for brows.  My brows are in a word -- PSYCHO!!!  I just have given up on them.  They are really pale --- part of them are thickish and wiry and the hairs go every which way --- and then the tale part --- is very sparse and thin!  Would you be kind enough to post the full name of this brow product?  I am hoping maybe this would be something that would help me!  Thanks so much!

[ Edited ]

@Kitty GaloreI just received this in my Sephora sampler box. (every month). It's called Gimme Brow. I love it. Only trouble was they sent a dark color. But I'm going in and buy the lightest shade they have. You can try it right there in the store. I know I'm going to. My problem is, one brow is higher than the other. I need to fake it to make the other brow higher.

I went to the Benefit website and the first thing that you saw was a brow kit, It looks like they give you the choice to pick the brow products, to make up your own brow kit. What a clever idea.
