Back in December I bought a small Tatcha sampler set for around $1.95 (small cleansing oil and 3 other samples). Well I wound up LOVING the products.

They are amazing. I have since bought a sample set for $49. But honestly this stuff is really pricey. I was wondering if there was anything else out there that might compare to the Tatcha results at a some what cheaper price?

When I first saw the Tatcha demo, I was intrigued, but like you I feel it's just too costly. I've been using Dr. Young Camellia Deep Cleansing Oil and Fleur de Lis Rice & Papaya Enzyme Powder for several months with great results. I get both of them on Amazon - more product for less money, even with shipping added on. The texture of the enzyme powder might not be as smooth or foamy as Tatcha's because there's no talc in it (which is actually a good thing because it can be irritating to some people). It's a little grainy, but still gentle. If you get the unscented, it smells a little like babyfood rice cereal - not offensive, but not pleasant either. There are other scented varieties that you might find more appealing.

Check out acure organics, Avalon organics, alba Botania. Great products at reasonable prices. I use the acure skincare and I am very pleased. Not sure what Tatcha is but check my suggestions out. Good luck.

I use the FDL rice enzyme exfoliator JeanLouise mentioned (thanks to her rec), and I like it much more than the Tatcha. It exfoliates better and more effectively, and I think a bottle will last a VERY long time. I use it 2-3 times a week, and it leaves my skin like silk. It's fabulous!!

I just received my Tatcha order today. I put off ordering and finally broke down a week ago and ordered it. I will review it after I try it out tomorrow.
