Read my lips.....BECAUSE WE WANT TO. It's a simple as that. What possible difference could it make to OP or anyone else what OTHER people choose to do with their money. I just don't get it at all. Or do people just have hard time understanding that some don't live penny-pincher lives. Some of us actually have careers and friends and families and community interests and we simply do not have the time, energy or desire to hunker down in front of a computer or traipse around town looking for a savings or $1 here or $2 there. Now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with people who do comparison shop. There's also nothing wrong with seeing what you want and buying it. Maybe it's envy. I don't know. I've just noticed that every day we get a couple posts like this and I don't understand them at all.

Nordstrom's beats all when it comes to returns, imo anyway. It can be used and a year old but they still, happily, accept the returns. Costco's and Sam's both state that they want their customers happy so will accept returns on most items without complaint. I was looking at mattresses at both Sam's and Costco's and inquired about their return policy with that kind of purchase and the response was, we want you to be happy so returns aren't limited to a time frame. I believe that Costco (commencing a few years back now) was forced to limit returns on certain electronics due to an excessive amount of customers abusing the system but they still permit at least 60 days on those items. Is always a shame when some decide to take advantage and eventually ruin it for the rest of us.

I like Shoebuy as they always have discounts, sometimes both on their codes at the top of the home page plus any discount already applied on various stock. And their return period is 365 days with free shipping and returns. They ship very promptly too. I got a pair of 3 tassel knee height Minnetonka boots there last year and saved more than $35 from buying the same boot here at the Q, shipping not even calculated into that.

QVC serves a purpose for many, the bulk of which I think is a result of easy pay. I use easy pay from time to time myself but never is it my reason for purchasing here. I have noticed that compared to years past, QVC has really increased their easy pay offers this year, even opening up that 4 day e/p weekend a few weeks ago on all merchandise. My feeling was that they were trying to increase sales - which I am sure it did. I know in prior years, it did not appear that e/p was so readily available on the bulk of their items nor have I ever been aware of a full 4 day weekend offering e/p on everything particularly during the holiday period.

There are just so many available places now to shop, compare and determine what might be the best deal for individual needs. The good news is that it all comes down to benefiting the consumer and that's a very good thing!

who would return something a year old though? {#emotions_dlg.blink}

Ha! I have to say that when I saw 'Amazon vs QVC' I immediately thought of 'tortoise vs hare' (in the opposite order of course). If somebody wants to pay more and wait longer, I guess that's their choice, whether or not it makes sense. Some folks don't operate on logic and practicality. Smiley Happy

I'm not saying that QVC is all bad because, of course, it isn't. But the fact does remain that Amazon (among others) offers better prices most of the time, free shipping, and MUCH faster service.

I can't really speak to returns and return times because I would never return a cosmetic item unless it was defective. If it's something I buy and decide that I don't like, well that's on me. It's only right.

Amazon has everything. And I do mean everything. You can't buy books and music on QVC, not really. If you heard of something, Amazon has it.

I'm a little surprised to see anyone touting QVC's return process. Yes, you eventually get your refund, but it takes longer, IMO, than any other site I deal with on a regular basis. And BTW, returns are fast and easy on Amazon.

I do love Amazon and frequently buy from that website, but I sometimes wonder if some of the products vendors sell, are authentic. I still purchase from the Q and don't worry about the validity of the products sold.

Not because of my personal experiences, but because of what I've read in the financial pages over the last few years, if the product is not directly from Amazon or it's worth less than $20, I don't buy Amazon.

Your choice, of course, but if I followed that rule, I would have missed out on dozens and dozens of wonderful books bought from third-party sellers for unbelievably low prices. I'm just careful to look at their ratings and feedback before I buy.

What I especially like is the fact that I can even filter the listings to see whether any of the sellers are teamed up with Amazon so that then, since we're Prime, I can get avoid shipping and get the item in two days.

QVC will do what their customers allow. If high shipping costs and times are accepted by the masses in return for EZ Pay and flexible returns, then things will remain that way.

Amazon shipping isn't always free; even for those who have Prime or spend over a certain amount.

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.

Then, why did you post........Why would anyone purchase on the Q when Amazon, Sephora and Philosophy to name a few provide better pricing and free shipping???????

It certainly seems like you are question what other people do with their money.

Third-party sellers, unless their product is fulfilled by amazon, will sometimes offer free shipping, but most often, do not.

Other than that, if it's sold by Amazon, I can barely recall anything that we've bought or wanted to buy where there wasn't an option to use our Prime account.
