@SurferWife  The counterfeit makeup/skincare business is a multi billion dollar per year mega industry.  There's huge factories running 24/7 in China and elsewhere churning out fakes. You're smart, many have been hurt by this stuff. The fakes look so real now, the pros can't tell until it's analyzed, after someone is already harmed. I've been burnt once on Ebay, that was it for me.

This is another concern I have with Amazon. I was buying off Amazon the super-cheap toothpaste like Colgate because it was a fraction of the price of toothpaste at my grocery store. Then I read that counterfeit Colgate and Crest have invaded the market, appearing at discount stores like the dollar store. The counterfeit versions are produced overseas and sometimes contain poisonous chemicals that one should not be ingesting like diethylene glycol which is used in anti-freeze and has been known to poison pets. The FDA released a warning about them. (Search Fox News for "Colgate Warns of Fake Toothpaste.") Was the super-cheap stuff I was buying on Amazon counterfeit? Sadly there's no way to know. I don't have confidence in Amazon to cull out the counterfeits.
