Alpha Hydroxy

Ladies, I need your feedback. I bought a large jar of Alpha Hydroxy Acid Acid, after hearing how good it was for your skin. I was thinking it was going to be like a liquid serum, but upon opening jar it is a white cream. The directions say to rub gently into skin in an upwards motion. That's all it says, now can I use my Retinal after or just a moisturizer, or perhaps just use it in the a.m before sunscreen ? Thanks for any help ! Felinemom
