This is the best thing I have found for my acne rosacea. My skin isn't sensitive, thank goodness. Since I started using Alpha Hydrox souffle and Alpha Hydrox pads, my face almost never breaks out. If it does, it's very minor. I want to know how to incorporate serums and or vit. c. I do put on a moisturizer, but that is all I have been using. Do I use the serums first or the alpha hydrox? Thanks!

Any other tips you can give me about this product, I would appreciate.

Kind12, I am no expert, but this is what I do: wash face in the morning, immediately apply ViT.C serum, wait a short time and then apply AH souffle. Now and then it will sting a little, then I wait a little while and apply my sunscreen/moisturizer (I have dry skin). I use CeraVe a.m. moisturizer lotion with 30 spf. It seems to work well this way for me.

As a general rule, product application is thinnest to thickest. I also use my Vitamin C serum in the morning. My routine is:

Exfoliating Powder (Fleur de Lis)
Toner (Thayers)
Vitamin C Serum (Mad Hippie)
Souffle (AH)
Eye Cream (Mad Hippie)
Moisturizer (Mad Hippie)

While I understand the thin-to-thick guideline, that is not what determines what goes on my skin first. I always put on my skin in the order I want the treatment. What your skin can handle would also determine the order.

But generally, a serum is more concentrated w/ actives, (and usually of thinner consistency) so you would put that on skin first.

I agree w/ Pianomama to use the vitamin C first because of the antioxidant protection. This is also the primary ingredient that builds collagen. (This is the only serum I use.)

So, that's my order, too - vitamin C, then Souffle, then moisturizer, and if I were to be out all day, I would follow up w/ SS.

Kind12, when do you use the pads? At night after cleansing? I've never used the pads, but I would surmise that you do not use them before the Souffle?

Do you already have a vitamin C serum you are wanting to incorporate?

If your skin is - not sensitive skin, but sensitive to the products, then this would also determine order of application.

I don't use AHAs, but it's my understanding that any exfoliant (I use BHA) should be applied after cleansing and toning (if you use a toner). Then I wait a short period and apply my Vitamin C. I let that absorb well before applying any other serums or moisturizers.

I use the pads a couple of nights a week in place of the souffle. I was using vitamin c, until is started the Alpha Hydrox. I feel like the Alpha Hydrox is the most important thing I use on my skin since it keeps me from breaking out. It's doesn't seem fair is to have wrinkles and acne at the same time. I think wrinkles are more attractive than acne. LOL!

The AHAs of the AH products should help with any fine lines & look of wrinkles. Wonderful that it is helping to clear your skin!

If you use these products at night, then reintroduce your vitamin C on clean skin in the a.m. You should be okay since you've already used C.

Or, try like we suggested....vitamin C then Souffle - etc.

Glad to see another Alpha Hydrox fan!

Their website often offers specials and deals. I recently ordered their Retinol Resque, the enhanced cream and their spot lightener.

Free shipping over $25 too.

A question for OP--my dd at 24 suffers from chin pimples (usually monthly)and I do not want her using an all over face product as they are so drying...do you find the AH acne products drying?
