Does this and all primers do the same thing? Do they all help improve the wear of makeup and somewhat "color-correct" the skin? I've never heard of primer until I watched a Laura Gellar presentation probably 2 years ago. Now I use hers and Skinn's. But are the drugstore brands the same concept? I've never been confident buying cosmetics at the store, but now that I've purchased several items after watching presentations, I feel a lot more educated and confident to do so, but I'm not really familiar with "drugstore" primers or if anyone besides Almay makes any.

Re: Almay Smart Shade Primer

I tried this today and it made my skin look fantastic even without makeup.  My face looks younger and brighter

Re: Almay Smart Shade Primer

Primers are all over the place. They fill the pores and blur fine lines and wrinkles. They also tend to mattify the skin so your foundation sticks better and longer. I'm taking a break from makeup for now, wonky A/C at work, and may try Almay's color change when I go back to wearing it. Before I quite with the makeup, I was using Holika Holika's Petite BB Cream in clarifying. It is only one shade, from Korean, but it blends in well with some Maybelline Fit Me matte foundation for me . It has 50 SPF, so that is awesome. I find I don't need a primer with it, but may see what fall and winter brings.

Re: Almay Smart Shade Primer

Pur Minerals and other brands have had color correcting primers for years, usually green or peach or lavender.

Re: Almay Smart Shade Primer

I never used one before  for i did not want green lavender skin but it was not noticeable.  I used it with the skin matching makeup and liked it a lot
