I haven't noticed a scent on the one I got from Costco. If there is one, it's not strong and dissipates quickly. I can be rather sensitive to strong scents.

I've never been able to use amlactin. It burned and made my skin itch. I'm sure it would have been great if it could have been tolerated. It's highly rated.

All brands have reviews that claim there is an odor that is a bit off putting, but it dissipates. Also, a complaint was that it is thick, but does eventually soak in.
I saw the brand that @SilleeMee posted on Amazon. I opted to go with 15% Amylactin with the 3 added ceramides. I haven't received it yet and it will most likely be delayed because of the storm. I ordered it from Walmart.
I still have a partial bottle left from RX the derm gave us a couple years ago. It used to be only available through a doctor. I had found it in the back my vanity and dug it out and tried it. That is why I posted this thread. ![]()
It does sort of pick on the skin and if you have a cut, it burns. I could say the same thing about the Alpha glycolic lotion. ![]()

Lactic acid has a slight odor to it. That's because it's made from bacterial fermentation which gives it a light sour-ish chemical smell. Lactobacillis bacteria is what makes it sour and if you eat yogurt then you know what I mean. ![]()

I have the Amlactin and it does stink. I don’t like the scent at all but, I agree, it does go away after a few. I pulled this out again and use it on my feet. My feet have gotten bad and this does seem to help keep them under control.
I would not use it on my face. I couldn’t handle the scent on my face but it is also on the thicker side and I would not take a chance. I have enough clogged pores I am working on.
This is not a repurchase for me because of the scent even though it dissipates. I don’t enjoy using it.

I use to have the worst rough, dry and cracked feet ever. I started using Alpha Skin Care Lotion on them and now my feet have never been better. I highly recommend it. Many good reviews and some posters here rave about their feet after using it. Has 12% glycolic acid.

.
I have been spraying Korres lavender body mist over it and it takes care of any lingering bacterial fermention smell. ![]()

@SilleeMee thank you so much for the recommedation. I do have this. So far I have used it on my face and neck. I do like it okay on my face but I will use the rest up on my hands and feet. Both need a lot of care.
These active lotions do have keep the crepiness soft.
