I was wondering if anyone has a good method when you don't want to wash your hair when you are in the shower.  I have used a shower cap but my hair still gets wet.

Good question.  I'm having cataract surgery soon and cannot get my eye wet.  I only take showers - don't like sitting in dirty water.  Have a few shower caps I've been given, but don't know if that's going to do the trick.  TIA

I shop at Meijer and always use their cheapy shower caps. They have terrycloth inside and a snug elastic to keep my hair dry. It only costs me $3.

I think the only thing that would work is to buy a shower head with one of those hand held shower attachments and just use it.

@pommom How about using eye goggles when you shower if your shower sprays that much? My grandmother had cataract surgery and didn't have a problem getting water in her eyes when she washes her hair. Your eye doctor may be able to tell you more about how to avoid water in the eye.

I bought a couple from Vermont Country Store.  They eventually lose some elasticity, but they worked very well.  Otherwise, Tjmaxx has some that are less expensive but also work.

@Happy2000twou

With curly hair, the steam in the shower helps revive  2nd day hair and bring back the curl w/o washing it again. I use a hand held shower head. On days I deep condition & need a shower cap, SALLY's has a great supply. I suggest the bouffant size so your "do" isn't flattened & longer hair doesn't fit under a reg. size cap.

Re: A good shower cap

Not hard, don't put your head under the shower head.  I never wash my hair in the shower.

Put your hair in a ponytail or on top of your head.

I have a good shower cap, but i don't bother.  I put my hair up in a clip.  My shower has an overhead as well as a hand held option for washing.  The hand held is easy to direct exectly where you want water on your body.  I've always resorted to just using a clip even before I had the option of a hand held.  If you are looking for a cap, mine came from TJ Max...it is terry line and elastic and very adequate if that is your choice.
