Good Evening All,
I was in a celebratory mood today because the Broncos pulled off a win under difficult circumstances - weather and a unbeaten team. Not sure how they did it but they did!! Helen, thanks for cheering us on! It was very cold today. Luckily, it is supposed to slowly warm up the rest of the week. I know it has been bad weather around a lot of the country. I hope it is ok in your neck of the woods. I can't believe November is over! Our decorating is rather sparse this year. I just don't have the energy to pull out all those myriad boxes. Maybe tomorrow.
At least our tree is up. That's the main thing.
Helen, We also have a combined living room and dining room. When we built this house, I wanted separate rooms but now I like the combined rooms. Did you put up your landing tree? Once upon a time, we put up two trees, but we haven't done that in years. It's all we can do to put one up!! I love the sweet dreams picture. Thank you for posting it. I
the Grinch. I have fond memories of reading it with my sons when they were little. It is the true meaning of Christmas. I'm glad you got your decorating done. I bet it's lovely.
Hayfield, Your house sounds beautiful. I remember homes like that when I lived in New England for a short time years ago. Your decorations are so nice and welcoming. I would love to see them. We have a 9 foot tree too. It takes us two days to decorate it. Like others, we have scaled back on our decorations, especially outdoors. Now a wreath suffices. I am thinking good thoughts for your DD!
Mocha, I turn on my tree when I get up also unless I will be leaving the house. How is Princess Daisy doing? Our dear Sam is declining. I am thinking we are going to have to make a very hard decision soon. Daisy is so lucky to have such wonderful parents!
Loves, What a beautiful picture of that sweet girl blowing snow. I can't wait to see all the Christmas pictures you will post. Love them!
Have sweet dreams everyone! Prayers for Martie and Kat. Hi to Fancy, Catwhisperer, Puddles, and everyone else. Blessings ![]()

whew! I can't believe tomorrow is December. I know this is a warn out phrase, but good grief, time is going by so fast.
Snardy, I was pretty excited about that Broncos game. what a nail biter. to go into overtime and win! wow. I'll bet Tom Brady had a little hissy fit in the dressing room. that Osweller guy is really good. I guess Peyton's replacement is set if he can't come back. I really love seeing Peyton play, though, and I hope he can come back and play like he always has. there have been just a few football players over the years that I have really enjoyed watching. Peyton and Brett Favre are at the top of my short list.
I am through with all the decorating I'm going to do, except putting up my front door wreath, and it should arrive tomorrow. it's a plain wreath with lights, so I might buy a few fake berries or maybe a bow and add to the wreath. I have finished my Christmas present shopping. DH and I don't buy each other anything most of the time. we were talking about that just tonight, and as he said, we buy ourselves things that we want or need all year, so there's no need for a special present from each other. since all our nieces and nephews have gotten older, we don't buy them presents any more either. it's pretty much all been about our DD for years, but now that she has a family we do make a pretty big deal out of buying for the kids too.
I am going to a Christmas cookie swap on Thursday night at our church. it's one of those things I don't really want to do, but I really should. I've never been to one so I'm not real sure how those things go. we are all supposed to bring 6 dozen cookies. I understand that we all then exchange cookies with each other. I'm not a baker, so I'm kind of worried that mine will be terrible, but they'll probably turn out ok. I'm making cranberry-orange cookies. we'll see
.
here's a little glimpse of our Christmas tree.
have a peaceful evening, y'all.

@MariotaMurielle, I love your tree! Thanks for the picture. You crack me up...I'll bet you'll have some of the best tasting cookies there! I'm like you, though, I always worry about things like that too. Just have fun. I think it's great you're doing something out of your "comfort zone"....
@snardy, Yay! What a game...I was jumping up and down the Broncos won. I used to like Tom Brady, now, not so much. I did a little more decorating today. This time I mean it. I'm done! (Maybe😉)
@Hayfield, I read the description of your house to my DH. We both said, it sounds amazing. Something like that out here would be in the millions. I'm going to post step by step instructions later on how to post a picture on here. I do it from my IPad, though, so I don't know if it's the same from a computer, if that's what you use. I would love to see your house. Hope you enjoyed your time off. Keeping good thoughts and sending lots of luck to your DD...
@RetRN, your house, I'm sure, looks lovely. I agree, sometimes less is more. Our house isn't real big either. We downsized when we moved here. It's perfect for just the two of us. so good to hear from you. Do you have any shopping trips planned?
