Is 30 days long enough to know if a beauty product works?
I have been using Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid for almost 30 days. I don't see one bit of difference...do I need to give it longer or move on to something else?

HI @Mom2Dogs
I have heard it takes 12 weeks to see skin care results, but I think that depends on what it is.

@justashopper OK...I have several travel sizes that I can use up, but unless I see improvement, I will have to look fo something else.
I do like Exfolikate. I just have a few places on my skin/face that needs some attention. They are not patches of dry skin just what appears to be little pieces of skin that if I want to I could remove with tweezers (I can only see this in my magnified mirror when I a putting on make up).
thanks.

Skin cell turnover time lengthens with age. Teens will experience 28-day turnover times, adults under 50 will have turnover times anywhere from a 4 to 6 weeks. If you're over 50 then expect to have turnover rates in upwards of 12 weeks.
So unless you are a teen, 30 days is not really long enough to see any changes from using a skincare product.

@SilleeMee Those teen days are long gone...I am in the over 65 age range. I will hold out for 12 weeks....thanks

To be fair about it, the 12-week thing would be enough time to see significant and full effects. But you might see things improving sometime before that depending on what product is used.

@Mom2Dogs Please don't pull skin off with a tweezers. Scarring can occur.

@Shanus What I am removing, is loose. I am not tugging at all. I always thought exfoliating would take care of this 'issue'. It does not and it is not all over my face, mostly the top of my nose and a spot on my chin. You cannot see it with the naked eye, only with I am using the magnified mirror during make up application.
I cannot see with out the mirror when it comes to applying my make up.
Thanks!

@Mom2Dogs I'm not sure what issue you are addressing? It "sounds" like the top layer is shedding a bit. That's the exfoliation. Is that correct? In that case, the LA is doing its job.
Lactic acid is pretty mild and is recommended for sensitive skin. Are you looking for something stronger? Are you addressing another skin issue?
If you are attempting to address fine, superficial lines, I would say stick to the LA. It also helps with skin hydration, and in time, the "loose skin" particles will subside, and you will see smoother skin. However, I think, too, that you need more than 30 days.
But there are more aggressive AHAs that you could use.

@Harpa This issue has been ongoing. These are not patches just random area on my face.
I must need something stronger as nothing I have ever used clears up what I am describing..again I cannot see with the naked eye.
I have plenty of the Lactic Acid left, I will use it until it is gone. Would you have a recommendation for something just a bit stronger?
I do not use much in the way of treatments. I only use Dr. Denese serum, vitamin C cream in the am and a moisturizer, am and pm.
In the past I used the Alpha hydroxy product at night: Enhanced renewal cream.
Thank you, and I appreciate the advice.
