Re: “2024”, Everyone, Please Join Us!

[ Edited ]

Morning! I slept a little later today. It's chilly & in the mid 40's outside.

@MariotaMurielle The chair my husband used to get into the tub was a transfer, swivel chair. One side of the 2 legs were outside the tub & the other 2 legs inside the tub. The person sat in the chair facing into the room, then you slid in the  hair into the tub & then swiveled so your front or back was to the showerhead. You reversed the process to get out of the tub.

The device ran about $200.00. One of our sons bought it & we reimbursed him for it.

Good Morning,

I've been up for awhile. DH hasn't been feeling well, so I was up and down during the night with him.  Tired...it will be a long day. I picked up candy yesterday for Halloween. It's hit and miss on how many trick or treaters we'll have. I just want to be prepared.

@MariotaMurielle , I was going to mention those shower sponges to @JudyL . I got them for my older sister who is in a wheel chair. She has a caregiver who comes daily and she uses them. They're great. Ezra looks adorable in his costume...

Blessings to Everyone....have a safe, happy day!

Re: “2024”, Everyone, Please Join Us!

@MariotaMurielle - Thank you for your suggestions.  I do have some of the SrubEzz or whatever they are called.  Don't have a walk-in shower either but a chair woudln't work either I don't think plus I don't have a hand held shower head.

Re: “2024”, Everyone, Please Join Us!

@JudyL, if I remember correctly, I was told not to get my incision wet for about 2 weeks, maybe 3. that's why I did the shower chair contortions. with DH's help, I could have stepped into the tub and showered, but had to figure out something else to keep the large incision dry. after I went back for my post op check up (about 2 weeks, I think), he said I could just wrap some plastic around my knee and get in the shower, and at that point if it got a little wet it would be ok.

DSIL had to come home for an appointment, so he has Ezra today.

I have several errands planned.....after coffee. everything must be after coffee Smiley Happy

@SleeplessinSD, hope your DH feels better and you get some rest.

my DH saw his surgeon last week and the stitches were removed. healing is slow, but progressing as it should be, he said.

@MariotaMurielle  - Ugh, I hate this already.  Was looking at my tub and it's just too small, both in length and width, to fit a shower chair or stool in there.  If I put the chair/stool in there and with the sliding glass doors, I couldn't get in there safely.  We'll figure something out.

Edited:  Found a bathtub stool on Amazon for narrow showers/tubs and it should work fine.  Ordered it and it'll be here tomorrow so I can put it together and see how it fits.

JudyL, if need be just wrap your leg/knee area with a leaf bag and lots of duct tape-that is what i did for my knee surg i had done many years ago-it kept incision dry . your leg may not get washed but at least the rest of you will be clean and you'll feel so much better , i would wipe my leg down with my wet washcloth when i got out of the shower.
