Good evening everyone. Happy Presidents Day! No mattress purchases today! 

Two sons came by Saturday PM & I served crudités & Scoops with Desert Pepper Peach Mango Salsa. One son went over a few things with me regarding financials. It's a slow drag as I don't understand a lot of it.

High schools should require a course on money management re: stocks, bonds, dividends & money market funds. We all would be better educated for the future.

My DIL came by later with the grandkids & they had a nice time amusing themselves with toys. 

We ordered a late lunch/early dinner & the cake was a big hit with the oldest grandson who 'inhaled' his slice! 

Today I just hung out at home watching recorded TV.

when Ezra arrived this morning, he stood in the hall looking at the laundry room door for a couple of seconds, looked at me and then carried on as if he was unimpressed.

we had a good day with several back yard explorations.

@SleeplessinSD, I'm sorry that your sister is sick. praying she will be better soon. that Calista hair thingy might have been good for you but the opening between the flat plates was so narrow I could only do a very small section of hair at a time. my hair isn't coarse but it's below my shoulders and there's a lot of it.

@JustJazzmom, it's good that you have your sons close by to help you figure out all that financial stuff. it must feel overwhelming at times.

@JudyL, I'm sure you enjoyed your retirement celebration with your family.

@JustJazzmom , my husband handles everything for us, and I know I'll regret someday not being more involved should the need arise. I'm glad your sons are near to help you...

I had a hair appt. lined up for tomorrow. My DH's been sick since yesterday, and since he takes me, I rescheduled for next week. The salon is in La Jolla, about half hour away. Our weather's taking a big turn from the pleasant weather we've been having with rain and heavy winds starting tomorrow and continuing through the weekend.  I hope everyone's keeping safe and well. Have a great rest of the day..

@viva923 , I read your post on the Bird Nest thread. OMGoodness,you've been through a lot the last few days, and  I'm so glad to know you are in the best of hands with your doctors. I'm also happy to read you'll be letting your foot heal before doing any exercise or walking. I don't want to worry you, and I'm never one to tell anyone what to do, but what you're going through reminds me of SPAMMOM, an old poster who I became very close to. She dealt with a continuing infection on her knee and wore a boot too. You probably remember her, as you've been posting here a long time. Anyway, I'm keeping good thoughts for you and praying for quick healing going forward..take care!

Good evening!

Watched a light snowfall this morning which was a dusting. Once it stopped I ran to the store to get more milk & light cream in anticipation of bad weather coming within the next 2 days. On Thursday the storm about to hit the Midwest will visit our area. It's supposed to be a wintry mix. 

The visit to the store was my break between phone calls this morning. Still waiting for some financial things to go through & resolve. 

I managed to accomplish 1 thing!  Hurray for me! Will have some 🍷 with dinner tonight.

Sorry @viva923  you are dealing with foot problems. 

Glad you got the door to the laundry room put up without divorcing your DH @MariotaMurielle 

@JudyL Once your sister feels better, your retirement party will be rescheduled? 

@SleeplessinSD  Even if it makes your eyes glaze over, pay attention to the financials in particular the websites, the passwords & user names. And what is needed to file the yearly tax returns. 

Should have done that sooner.

Hi Everyone

I am doing a little better since my brother passed away February 6th.  Thanks to everyone for the special thoughts and well wishes.   Some days are better than others.  I've been busy the last  two weeks getting everything in order.  It has been a challenge as he had no will, sorry to say.  @viva923  Sorry to hear about your foot.  Hope you are doing better.  @SleeplessinSD  I hope your sister is feeling better, sending special thoughts her way. @MariotaMurielle I love that picture of the cabinet you selected.  I'm still hoping I can get some new kitchen counter tops installed this year.  @JustJazzmom  I've been thinking about you, wondering how you are doing.  @JudyL  Hope you are doing well.  Our weather here has turned cold again, we got some light snow last week and it's supposed to get colder tomorrow.  It's been raining most of the day.  I've been searching for new recipes on the internet since I like to bake and cook.  My son told me about this site by Julie Pacheco which is very good.  I've made several things from her site and they were good.  I made some vegetable soup a couple days, so we will have that for dinner along with french bread.  Hope to get to the store this week, just haven't felt like going with it being so cold and rainy outside.

Hi Everyone!

Well hold on to your hats!  Think we're going to end up in Kansas!  LOL  Wind gusts here of 65mph.  It is howling outside and on the news there are reports of downed trees, power outages, etc.  Its supposed to get into the high 20's, low 30's at night over the next few nights and rain is on the way too.  I have a dentist appt tomorrow afternoon so will go to that since the rain isn't supposed to start until Wed night and into Thurs and Fri.  We aren't used to this kind of cold where I live.  

@JustJazzmom - yes, my family retiremnt dinner will be rescheduled.  My sister went to Urgent Care yesterday and was given some meds and should be feeling better soon.

Not much else going on here.  Wishing everyone a good night!

not much today

nurse lady visit today little she could do, NO orders on how procede with foot from doc. see doc tomorrow at 2pm for my next appoint.nurse lady is coming back friday hopefully with doc order so she knows how to procede.

no real chores today, mopped floors,vacuumed that is all i can really do. ok guys that is all for now,later

very cloudy looks like rain any minute very cool today. sweater weather.
