Just reading some of the post tonight and so glad that we have this place to come for friendship and understanding. I never realized there were so many of us joining this club none of us would have chosen. I am so grateful for all of you and your kindness. I really believe it has helped me a great deal to know I am not alone, a place I can bare my sadness, not feel guilty and am greated with such kindness, understanding and compassion.   I feel I have made many new friends. I pray for all of you who like me are hurting and that each day brings some comfort  to you. I am so sorry for your loss and so glad you found this place and these ladies to come too.

Yes I have found out it takes a lot of compassion, caring and empathy to get through the difficult times and sadly those you count on let you down for whatever reason. Perfect strangers and now friends on this forum. Thank you all.

evom, thank you for giving us some information about when your hubby was taken from you. Everyone of us would say it seems like yesterday or a hundred years ago. So grateful you had a happy marriage and have 2 children. I see now that how you got your connection with FL. Vero Beach is where the Dodgers always had spring training. I think it's in AZ now. I've never been to that state. So you have some idea of where you want to live and probably know at least a few people there. We need to pray for a buyer for the house in TN. Without my faith, I can't imagine getting through hubby's long illness and Homegoing. I watched him breathe out that last time and knew he wasn't here anymore. He was at Home with his Savior and I was free too of seeing the suffering and the decline that so frustrated him. The loss of independence. I went to bed that night and told the Lord that hubby didn't need anything from me, or anyone, and slept for 9 hours straight. So grateful for that release and the knowledge that I will see him again. Each of us has our own story, but we all share the grief. Others try to be kind, but unless they've been on this path themselves, they can only empathize, which some do very well. We understand. You are so welcome here.

possummink, the pictures of the hot air balloons is stunning. If I didn't have a fear of heights, which I do, I think it would be amazing to go up in one. I'm sure you have given evom lots of information about FL. Me too for that matter. I just think of humidity and bugs. It's in the 80s here getting more humid and gray. Icky. We might get some rain, but it's the monsonal kind that is uncomfortable. Still, it's rain and we will be glad for it.

My GD and her fiancee are busy making wedding plans. He's the kind of guy who would let her do it all and just show up. I like the way they treat each other and told them so.

silkeej, after my hubby went Home, I posted on the cancer thread here and someone directed me to this thread. It's a haven for those of us who share the same loss. I'm grateful for it also. We encourage each other and realize that whatever we are feeling, it's okay. Others "get it". There's no right or wrong way to grieve and no time table. Your observations will help others, which will help you. One day at a time. Take care, dear friend,

Possummink, I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother Mike.  That is so hard to hear.  Please accept my apologies because I was not reading your post right.  Thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.  Have a safe trip back home to Mo too.  Love all the beautiful balloon pictures, that is so neat.

Just minutes from Asheville and off of Blue Ridge Parkway, this humble town provides the perfect leaf viewing getaway with breathtaking views of Great Smoky Mountain National Park. For more information, visit Weavervillenc.org.:

Thank you,  Phulphy,   Mike was a very special person to all who knew  him.   The services were today and my daughter spoke of him and his love of food, his laugh, and his love of Katie.   I am kind of worried about her, as they were devoted to each other and took care of each other for many years.   She needs someone with her all the time.   I guess her sons will see to it somehow.

I love to see hot air balloons  up in the sky.  They are so beautiful and some are just plain fun, with cute shapes, characters, etc.  They make no sound as they float over everything.   Like Snappy,  I'd like to ride in one if I wasn't afraid of heights, man made heights.
