Re: well, I've mentioned the few decorations we think we'll put up/out

The only decor I may pass on this year is my pretty 4' tree in the DR. My family Christmas is coming early this year by one week. I still have all my cookie baking to do as well as wrapping the gifts I have and buying what remains. The big tree is up but needs to be trimmed, and that generally takes two days. IF I get it all done, then maybe that second tree may go up. Depends on my motivation.

I didn't decorate last year either, except for my small ceramic Christmas tree. DH is not able to help me, and so I choose to just put a fresh wreath on the front door and a few meaningful pieces out in my LR. We don't entertain and we won't have Christmas guests. I'm 72 and just choose the minimalist route! Makes perfect sense for some of us!

I put up my tree and it really made me feel better.  I love to look at it with just the tree lights on.  I feel bad for everyone who feels so sad this year.  Let's all hope the New Year will see an end to the Corona..Please keep the faith

[ Edited ]

I was undecided about doing the Christmas decorating this year as this year it is only DH and me.   As of last year, we no longer host a family Christmas Eve meal/gift get together as all our grands are now older and married and there were scheduling issues. Truthfully, it does not seem like Christmas to me without our Christmas Eve with all three of our children's families gathering together.

About 10 of us still gather at my son's for dinner/gifting on Christmas Day.  For the others we visit separately during the Season.

Also having some health issues, but I got sort of in the mood this week.  DH brought up the tree and put it up and got the decorations from storage and I decorated Thursday and Friday.  Put up most of what I usually do except did not do the second tree and the only outside is the Christmas Wreath.  No lights, etc.  Although I have always loved Christmas decorations (and stil do), even tho they are now up, it does not seem the same.

We wil see what next year brings.  Depends I guess on how much enjoyment we get out of the decorations this year with only us.

Love, Christmas. I decorated on Black Friday like I do every year.

Even purchased a few new things. I added a black sheep to the Nativity as well as a ceramic tree and used the 3 bottle brush trees that came with the VPH Truck in the Nativity as well.

and lots of Christmas music!!

to each their own.

I'm going all out too. I was ill last year and couldn't do a darn thing so I'm going all out this year. It's just me and DH but he really appreciates the house being festive. It's hard work but I enjoy it.

Except for the trees, these are the same figures and manger that my folks had when I was a child.  Made me smile.  (I don't know where theirs went, may have been to a nephew).

I wouldn't even think of not getting outside of myself and decorating.  I feel like I need to be as normal as possible.

I also put full decorations up. I figured if I'm gonna do it I might as well go all the way. I'm glad I did.
