Re: It is fine to be different.... A Friday message on Saturday..

Good for you most hosts would just be upset and trying to be polite, well first of all you said her cousin, husband & 2 kids which is 4 unexpected people that you didn't invite into your house shame on your SIL. The nerve of this lady, yes get out. Why should she ruin your Thanksgiving. I would not be happy with the SIL she added more people & rude ones too, not a fan of your SIL and I don't know her.

SIL should have called in advance telling you if it is OK to bring 4 extra people, also this SIL knows her cousin is rude why would she even think of bringing her & her also rude family. I blame her for all of this. Good news, you stood your ground the cousin will probably never come back & SIL knows you don't take ****** from anyone. I know your day was ruined with all of this. I would tell your husband that this needs to be controlled for the next holiday. Just watch out for this SIL she was the one that caused all this. She may cause problems in the future too who knows.

@I am stillkeeper of the -I am so glad to hear that you handled this the way that you did! Wonderful job!

There is absoluely no reason why you have to justify your life to anyone and there is no reason why you should be treated like that in your own home. I'm thrilled that you asked her to leave. Just from reading your posts you sound like a very lovely and caring person and I'm glad you stood up for yourself.

There are SO many people around today that think it's okay to just say whatever they want or do whatever they want to do and no one will call them on it. Any behavior is supposed to be accepted today and we're supposed to just take it. I work in a hospital and when I was still taking care of patients I saw it every day. Good for you for standing up for yourself. Hopefully this woman thought at least a little bit about how her behavior might have been inappropriate, but I doubt it.

@I am stillkeeper of the funny how she thought that you only cared for animals...seems to me her whole family was being cared for at your house. She kind of fit the “abandoned  category as she had nowhere else to go for Thanksgiving.I think her heart is filled with too much misery and your love and happiness was unbearable for her...she wanted to share her misery with you.

@I am stillkeeper of the   Such an uncomfortable situation, however, you handled it admirably.  It is a shame there are such people in the world who have no manners or filter on their mouths. I am embarrassed for her husband and children.

But why in the world would your SIL take it upon herself to invite them without telling you?

Re: It is fine to be different.... A Friday message on Saturday..

Your sister-in-law was absolutely wrong to bring uninvited guests. She should have called to ask. To literally add insult to injury, your uninvited guest decided to take out her own miseries in life on you...talk about biting the hand that feeds you! I absolutely understand why you asked her to leave. I might have given her a warning first, upon that call into the kitchen. However, I’d bet she would not agree and heap more insults at me, at which point I’d probably have lost my temper in front of everyone. Your sister-in-law needs a talking-to as well, albeit when you’re calm and recovered from the assault.

@I am stillkeeper of the   Your home is your sanctuary....your place  of peace....place  of safety.

This uninvited guest who You gratuitously  took in,  was rude rude... and hateful towards you in your home.

I would have have asked her to leave as well.
