I had a patient once who claimed she was clairvoyant and she kept telling me I was going to die on my 84th birthday. now I truely don't believe in this stuff but, I am thinking when I get close to my 84th birthday - should I make it that far - I will be spending a lot of time on my knees, making things right with me & the Lord.

I was afraid to die until the age of 16.  At that point, I asked Jesus Christ to save my soul.  I realized I was a sinner in need of a Saviour.  I believe that Jesus took ALL my sin on His body on the cross, which the Bible clearly states (I Peter 2:24).  Since then I have never been afraid to die.  His Word has promised me eternal life with Him (John 3:16).

I guess I dont worry about those things as I plan to leave this life behind with exactly what I came into it with..........nada......ziltch.  Nothing for people to fight over (have seen that ruin familes) , no funerals or burials to pay for either as I am going to be cremated. I survived hospice in 2008 and know that Im just maybe lucky or not to be living just for today. I do not fear death as for some of us living is so much harder in this country and living with chronic pain is not really living. Just think 100 years ago if you lived to be in your 30's that was considered very old. And no Im not a Christian and yes I have a totally different belief system and am minimalist.

My only hope is that I just Iie down and go to "sleep" before I become a physical and financial burden.  I don't want to know when.

I would like to know, but I think knowing may change things.  Like maybe I'd quit my job, liquidate all my belongings and go on an endless vacation.  Or something equally as crazy.

I would most definitely like to know. i'd like to prepare myself and get my affairs in order. knowing wouldn't scare me in the least. I would prefer it actually, and I've felt this way for a long time. nothing morbid about this I think. I'm just the kind of person who would like to be prepared as best as I can.
