The flies are laying eggs inside the house and hatching out, perhaps in your attic, and then they find windows to try to get outside. Flies are drawn to cat and dog food bowls too.

Flies like to lay eggs in the dirt of your inside houseplants, especially if you have plants that are taken outside on the porch in the summer months and brought inside in the fall.

The fireplace is also a prime area for flies to enter the house.

I question the reliability of an exterminator that has sprayed a long time and you still have a severe problem.   I pay for monthly service; the exterminator sprays in my garage and basement, around the perimeter of the house as well as all doors and windows.   We see very few flies and mosquitoes, and I can sit on my porch without getting eaten alive.   There is some residual effect to the spray since we started monthly service 7 years ago.

We call the big green flies blow flies, and they are specifically found around rotting garbage, sewage, horse barns, and dead animals.

I live in a rural area and always have a lot of flies in the spring when it's the most humid, although I don't have a problem as bad as yours.  They're not so bad as the summer heats up.  They hang around my doors (outside) and then when I open the door, they can fly inside.

I've had great luck with the Dyna Traps.  I put one on the front porch to cover the front door, and one in the garage that gets the door out there.  The flies never seem to be inside the traps along with the other bugs, but evidently they are deterred because I never have any flies when the traps are running.

I hope someone has a solution for you that works.  Your problem sounds very annoying.

It's the year of the fly, we can't figure out where they are coming in from either, they are very sneaky, it gets worse when they smell food cooking in the kitchen, they fly around an outside window.

We sprayed yard guard outside and it helps a little, but they just keep coming back. We have never seen so many as this year.

If you are trying to kill the flies inside, please try a battery-operated fly swatter.  When I first saw one at Harbor Freight store, I thought:  Right this won't work and it was about $4-5.

Well, I was wrong and sometime in early September  I got to use it as there would be an unusual number of flies in the great room.  All I had to do was get very near to

the fly: it would fly away and into the face of the swatter / racquet and be electrified on the grid.  No swinging the racquet at all and no blood smears !

Next time I got the racquet that used the larger batteries.

The racquet can deal with really tiny flying insects too.

DD uses  "Ranch Fly Traps' commonly used in horse barns where flies can be a huge problem.

When she gets home from work, I'll find out where she orders them from.

Just yesterday she mentioned receiving hers, after they had been on back-order.

You can use them over and over, not disposable, just add new 'bait'....cheap canned cat food and beer.

It has a net and the flies, attracted by the bait, get caught in the netting, so nothing nasty, full of dead flies, to empty.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I use those too, for any occasional flying bug problem.

Those green bottle flies are the ones usually found around dumpsters where food it rotting and around dead things.  You dont say how long this has been going on but they are gathering and breeding somewhere in the walls of your house.

Try google search on green bottle flies.  HTH.
