When dinosaurs roamed the earth I liked to watch hosts. I learned a lot about jewelry from K. Levine. Now its just flipping hair and drinking wine and jumping around.

But also remember that years ago before the internet there was no other option but to watch hosts and could order only when items were presented so there was no other way to purchase!  Way better now and no need to feel forced to watch.  Maybe QVC or tv shopping is not for those who have such disdain for the hosts!!

@Pook , Also remember there was a fair amount of foolishness in the Q's old days. Remember the dumb costumes ?

@QVCkitty1   Sure do remember all that fairy dust floating around with costumes and not normal clothes to sell that costume jewelry!!  Then those old west silver day costumes and settings.

Does anybody remember the game the hosts would play with the people that called it. It was a wooden stand that had Q V C on it and the caller would guess a letter and the host would flip the letter over to see what prize the caller had won?

@Pook Actually, you could order any item at any time, however, you needed the item number. I had sticky notes all over my house with item numbers and would make little notes to myself what the items were. Oh, and the tapes I had of QVC. LOL. I recently transferred my VHS kids tapes and saw shows I had taped 30 years ago. It was quite funny to see, the studio consisted of a table and a chair with host, no decor whatsoever.

Although the hosts are definitely not the same, even the old timers have changed their selling technique, some hosts are still fun to watch. If posters do have a disdain for certain hosts, there are many others they can choose to watch. They don't have to avoid QVC all together.

@cjm61 For a time you  could only order when the item was being presented, then they switched to letting you order if you had the number.   I kept a pad nearby with all the item numbers of things I liked so I could order whenever.

But, in the beginning (not sure how long it lasted) you could only order while item was being shown.   I think they learned real quickly that some of us weren't that fast on the draw and changed that process.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

But the presentations for items were shorter and I liked the quick takes.
