Re: Written scripts those days are gone

It depends upon the medication.

Some medications are controlled more and one for DH is required to be sent by our PCP online. A paper script cannot be used anymore for this one and hasn't been for several years.

All the others we have are all called in but not for control purposes but convenience. Plus some renewals need insurance approval so time is saved by online requests by our PCP.

We don't like it because you aren't able to research the drug and  it's filled before you know how much it's going to cost.

My husband was prescribed brand name Farxiga to the tune of almost $600 for a 30 day supply.  He had to call the pharmacy tell them he didn't want it and then call the doctor to have a new prescription written for the generic which was less than half the cost.

I always remind the dr that I want generic when she/he is giving me a script so I don't have to do this.

I need an inhaler and asked for a generic. The copay was still $400 with my insurance. It's $82 with GoodRX.
