I have sold things most of my life, so yes, I know I could be a QVC host. I also have the gift of gab.
I would never want that job though, because I wouldn't be able to handle the nastiness that is said about the hosts by armchair quarterbacks who critique their hair, nails, feet, skin, wrinkles and weight.
I, for the life of me wonder how some hosts do it. I know they make an excellent living, so I suppose they laugh all the way to the bank.
I would have a hard time not letting the negative comments slide off my back. I have seen the comments about Jane sometimes doing and saying things to the viewers that they think is unkind. I don't blame her one bit....that would be me too.

I'm a woman of few words, so after my initial pitch, I would be done. Plus there is no way I could involve my family in my " stories."

Yes, I would be a great host. A good deal of my career involved pubic speaking, detailed presentations and imparting information.
I am a hard worker, I spend time prepping any presentation, and I a clear and organized speaker. I also work hard to dress prefessionally and be well groomed, remain calm and present myself and my subject in a good way. People find me warm and approachable.
Would I want to be? Never. I do not like being in the spotlight, although I'm good at it. And I worked hard for my employer.

I would be a terrible host! You need to be upbeat the whole time that you're on and I just don't have that kind of energy!
Plus you have to think of positive things to say about an item that you just might not care about.
I always thought being a host isn't an easy job.

If you just look around, every company, career, or profession is selling something. Often something they don't personally believe in. There is often deceptiveness.
In the workforce, we risk losing our job, if we don't support the sell, only to move to another job with the same expectations. The Q just has typical sales tactics. Nothing unusual. If not, they'd go under.
No one can be trusted when money is changing hands. Work roles simply become a performance. If you don't perform, you lose your job.
There's no escaping this now. As consumers, we just need to be wise when purchasing, while understanding that the seller is simply trying to make a living. It's likely to only get worse.

I don't sing, dance or scream so I wouldn't be a good candidate.

I'm with you, @Sooner ! What's there to talk about a product's atributes, explaining how to use something, describing colors, measuring dimensions, demonstrating, etc.? That's what an educator does, which is second nature to me.
I'm just no good at pretending or forcing or trying to be entertaining or funny. So, a QVC host, no, I'll pass!
