Does anyone ever download windows 10 when there's a notice saying you can?  I don't.  Just wondered if any of you do with good results.

I surely do NOT.  I like Windows 7 and will stay in it until they blast me out :-)

I just recently downloaded windows 10. I kept putting it off for months, not sure if I wanted to. One day when my son was here, he did it for me.

It went well. The only issue I did run into was we had to uninstall my printer, then reinstall it.

I too have Windows 7 and will keep it as long as I can.  I'm afraid something would go wrong and don't want to take that chance.

I did it and then immediately took it off.  Don't even know where to start complaining.  The Windows 10 put me in AIRPLANE MODE...  NO INTERNET CONNECTION.  And I have a PC. Woman Sad It would not allow many of my other programs to operate.

I was told I need new drivers... etc.  So much fun.. not  easy.  So taking it off and praying I could have my Windows 8 back.....was a tense moment or two.  Hubby has Windows 7 and I don't dare touch it.

Thanks! I won't touch it either!  I am satisfied with Windows 7 also.  I'll hang onto that too until I have to get off for some reason, maybe a new computer will only be Windows 10, don't know.  My computer is quite old but it works well.

My husband downloaded the Windows 10, and loves it - no problems at all.  He had windows 8 and hated it.  I bought a new computer with Windows 10, and I also love it, and have had no problems.  Windows 10 is much like Windows 7 which I have on another computer.  I loved Windows 7, but still love Windows 10 just as much.  I don't understand why so many people are having problems with it.  I have none.  So, if you download Windows 10, I hope you enjoy it.

I installed windows 10 but everytime I log in it tells me I need to download some .Net program to run certain programs. I tried but it could not install it. Very confusing to me, not tech savy so I just click do not install and the box goes away. It also asked me to uninstall McAfee then re-install. I was on the phone with Uverse one day asked about McAfee they told me not to uninstall it.  Has anyone had this problem?

If you are happy with Windows 7 and your system is working well? Why fix something that isn't broke?

I am using Windows 7 and have no intention of changing my operating system until I feel it is time to upgrade to a new computer.

Here's the problem with not upgrading to Windows 10.  Microsoft is no longer updating Win 7 with security patches and so if there is another breach your computer will not be protected.  Windows 8 too but not Windows 8.1 from what I've read although one should do their own research on that.  Microsoft Support is another issue; they are discontinuing that as well and already have for Win 7.

Right now Windows 10 is free.  Sometime in the future it will not be and this could happen as soon as this summer where consumers will be forced to spend maybe $200.  If they don't want to they will be surfing the internet without updates to Security Issues for Win 7 and Win 8.  Again, not sure about Win 8.1 as there seems to be some confusion about Microsoft's plans regarding that.

I am in the same boat and have Win 8.1 and do not want to upgrade to Win 10 BUT it is free for now and at some future point will not be free.

Buying a new computer with Windows 10 is better, imo, than upgrading.  But, I know if there is nothing wrong with your computer why should one have to shell out money to buy a new one.  Very infuriating.
