Re: Who remembers Colleen Corby — one of 1st supermodels?

@Leiloni@blackhole99@ROMARY@shoesnbags@GingerPeach

oh, funny story!

I DID find the private group on FB relating to Colleen Corby and models of the 60’s!

The thing is, I can’t decide if I stumbled upon a group of FORMER MODELS or not?

So, the moderator suggested we post our pictures from the 60’s of OURSELVES!

So dutifully I posted one (that I dug out) of me as a cheerleader! (And it is not my favorite picture, either)

‘’So, here I am possibly posting with former models... but I have only pictures of me in an old-fashioned cheerleader long skirt and heavy sweater!  lol

@SeaMaiden I bet you looked great in your twiggy haircut! Little did we know that the 'pixie' would become so famous decades later.Woman Happy

@Leiloni  Actually I  looked  kind of like a boy... I was tall and lanky....still wearing a trainer bra( not built like the  popular cheer leaders with double D's!   It took me a while to fill out. Smiley Happy

Re: Who remembers Colleen Corby — one of 1st supermodels?

@Leiloni   Want to add... that the only reason I wore a trainer bra at all.... was that those pesky 7th grade boys would snap the girls bra straps( I guess today that would be frowned upon....) but, they got away with it back then... if you did not have a bra strap the boys would make fun of you. Smiley Sad  Thus I wore a trainer bra which gave me a bra strap IF  my bra was snapped.... God forbid it a girl had no bra strap to snap in 7th grade ( horrors!!)

Boys got away with so much back then... they said horrible things to us as well ( I will not go into what they said....)   I remember 7th grade as not being very fun or pleasant. No one turned the boys who did this stuff in... back then they got away with it...

Hey!  Bring back those chain belts!  Maybe in faux tortoise?

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

@SeaMaiden I REMEMBER 7TH GRADE TOO, IT WAS TERRIFYING & AWFUL! I REMEMBER WHAT THOSE JERKS WOULD DO & YOU'RE RIGHT, BACK THEN THEY GOT AWAY W/ ANYTHING, WHILE WE WERE SUPPOSE TO BE PROPER  YOUNG LADIES! I DIDN'T REALIZE & IM SURE YOU DIDN'T EITHER, WHAT A TRANSITION 6TH TO 7TH WOULD BE, BUT IT WAS & NOT A GOOD ONE OR A GOOD MEMORY. I HATED THE SCHOOL I HAD TO GO TO ALSO, MOST OF MY 6TH GRADE FRIENDS WENT TO ANOTHER, SO NOT ONLY WAS I TERRIFiED & EXTREMELY SHY BACK THEN, BUT I HAD TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS! OTHER THAN THE BOYS, I HOPE YOUR EXPERIENCE WAS MUCH BETTER THAN MINE! DO YOU WATCH DR & HEATHER DUBROW ON EVINE? IF SO, THEY'RE ON EVINE TODAY W/ A SPECIAL. HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND & IT WAS NICE CHATTING W/ YOU, SEAMAIDEN. BTW, MY VERY, VERY OLD LAPTOP CAPS ARE STUCK ON AGAIN, LOL, HAPPENS ALL THE TIME, NEED TO BUY A NEW ONE SOON.Woman Frustrated
