Starting at 2:30p, finished at 8:30p I've finally gone through 2 boxes out of 3 of photographs.
The 3rd box was full of wall hanging pics. The only one I kept from that box was my parents wedding picture.
The rest of the hanging pics, I removed from the box & threw them under the bed for another time to go through. In the words of Scarlett O' Hara..."Tomorrow is another day."
For the 1st 2 boxes I made 3 piles...
keepers
trash
give away
The boxes were filled w/loose pictures as well as many photo albums.
More than half of the "loose" photos I had no clue who those folks were, where the pics were taken, what century or anything----TRASH!
The photo albums will be shipped to my brother & daughter. I have no use for them. I already boxed them up, labeled to ship. S.O. will take to P.O. tomorrow morning.
My baby picture album & my first trip abroad album were missing. I called my mother to see if she stole borrowed them. Sure enough!!! Told me she mailed them to my daughter years ago...WITHOUT MY PERMISSION mind you! Well to be honest, my baby picture album was my parents, but the European album was mine!
Only 2 albums are keepers....
1 - my very first photo album which was a 16th B-day present from my parents along w/a poloroid cam
The pictures in that album spanned 25+ yrs of family & old neighborhood friends some long forgotten & probably dead or in jail.
I was tickled pink by the white ink we had to use in order to label the black pages "back in da day" as well as rubber glue to keep the photos on the pages w/those white corner stickies. ![]()
2 - The grands album. All the pics are in chronological order according to age. Some day I will scan all the pics to put them on DVDs & give to them on their 18th B-day. In the words of Scarlett O' Hara..."Tomorrow is another day."
I moved 3 1/2 yrs ago. I've been down sizing ever since. So darn glad that job is now over.
The End...

Great job. I'm going to drop off the boxes I have. My sister has four shoe boxes full of pictures of her two kids and is unable to take on the project. Looks like a lot of the photos are of the first couple years. The kids are three years apart. The boy is the oldest and handed down his clothes to his sister. I can't tell them apart in some photos. They are teenagers, so they are of no help. LOL.
