The fall garden flag and dish towels will be out September 1st, and that is the extent of my decorating.
Decorations are pretty at someone else's house; at my house I see them as clutter and am too OCD to deal with it. I like very plain and simple, and a bare surface is good.

weekend after Labor Day for the inside.
outside by end of September...
if the bee disappeard off the surface of the globe, then humans would only have 4 years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more humans

I don't really have summer decor inside. It's all outside.
Flowers!
Otherwise, my house is pretty much light pastels (think salt water taffy colors) even with 18" of snow on the ground.
I do decorate for Halloween with some MC pumpkins on a table in the entryway. A decoration on the front door. And I'm growing my own pumpkins (what was I thinking???) for the front steps.

I was going to wait until the 1st of September but with rain due and Summer items stored I started several days ago. It was cooler! This morning I've finally finished,
I did several arrangements and put a Turkey like on Q on my dining room table, new this year. Valerie's pheasants by an arrangement in the living room and another arrangement using silk dried type hydrangeas in a tall brass and glass container sitting in the floor. The den has the mantle decorated with Valerie's Autumn scene in a lantern from years ago, and other items.
The slate foyer has arrangements in handmade containers from local craft shows that I use every year. Leaf wreaths are on doors and flags in the yard. The window boxes have silk mums because sun dries real ones out..the mail box has an Autumn flag as does the pole light. All done!
Battery candles are everywhere. I enjoy doing it and the change of seasons.

At the very earliest for me is usually sometime in the 3rd or 4th week of Septeber
I dont do much ( Florida). I put a metal gaIvanized Welcome pumpkin or fall wreath on my black front door
I change my mail box cover to Halloween. I have a compatible "art sign" that ive bought to replace garden flag system that is next to my porch as you enter my house. ( i just found changing the flag too hard to do, frustrating.)
The acrylic art sign is simple to change but the black metal holder is not my style ( it sits in a metal holder that has VERY traditional finnials ) . I bought 4 signs for it before I lost my job so Ill use it I guess. Its smaller than Garden flags tho, not happy about that. Now they have something new this year that I rather have but oh well. By "they" I mean Briarwood Lane (formerly Discount Decorative Flags).
