Not sure of your use of a "real live panic attack" even means. I do know what being diagnosed with Anxiety/Panic Disorder means in Psychological Medical Terms. I spent over 7 days in a Psych Ward because of being diagnosed with it by a Psychiatrist, and other Mental Health Professionals.
People that have never been in that, sometimes years long "Black Hole", get certain emotions confused with what diagnosed Panic Attack really means.
My original post wasn't meant to go here, but! From years of being in that "black hole" and seeing a short term, maybe instantaneous view of a mouse, is not even close to what the real diagnosis. Still not sure what this even means, "a real live panic attack".

That comes across, IMO, as dismissive of what @Luvsmyfam was experiencing. I took her "real live panic attack" to mean she was actually undergoing a panic attack not using the term figuratively.

Not worth a discussion with anyone, unless they are living with my same diagnosis. If you are, tell me your experiences. I edited that "dismissive"(?) post, and deleted my mouse story.

@Luvsmyfam I understand exactly what you are saying. I'm the same way. The last time I saw a mouse was while living in NJ in 1989 and I will never forget what I went through.
Just the topic of this Thread give me goose bumps so I haven't read all the Posts but yours stood out. I always wish that it was possible to hide some Topics like you do on FB.
Well bidding this Thread goodbye. I like Mickey and Minnie.

Hi @hckynut . Another diagnosis we share in common! I first started with panic attacks back in the early 80's. Eventually, they landed me in the hospital and I was diagnosed with PTSD/panic disorder. I had a wonderful doctor who found another cause...mitral valve prolapse. Once I started a beta blocker, I got a lot better.
Hope you are doing well and able to skate.⛸

Not something I want anyone to have in common with me. I am very happy to hear you have gotten better. These types of disorders are very hard, for those who do not suffer from them, to fully understand what they do to a person's whole life.
When I was in the hospital with heart attack #2 and told I had CHF, I said to my wife: "I would much rather deal with this than my time in the hospital's Pysch Ward. None of any of my serious health issues even come close to going through those years not knowing what the he!! was wrong with me.
Yep skated 2 hours Sunday, and will be going again tomorrow. With my 4 broken ribs and all. Goes pretty well as long as I don't let my heart rate get to high. Not concerned about my heart, but broken ribs and taking deep breaths? Kinda like feeling a knife stabbing you in the rib area. I try my best to avoid it, but sometimes I just can't help myself.
Hope you and yours are doing well,
Regards,

You know, @hckynut , I know exactly what you mean. Nothing could compare with that feeling. Heart attacks never came close.
Take care of those broken ribs. Enjoy your skating, my husband gives you his regards. I have told him about your active lifestyle and he enjoys hearing about it. Like yourself, he is very into physical fitness and lifts and jogs daily. 🏃♂️
