When I was very young, I figured out how we could afford a horse if we got rid of my little sister.

Parents nixed the idea which worked out well because today I don't know what I'd do without her.

@Kachina624 - You are blessed. I never had a sister.

Your post reminded me of one of my favorite commercials from Quicken. You have probably seen it. A father comes in to see a pretty horse by his young daughter. She shows him how she budgeted her money to buy her horse. It's cute!

That's cute, but my cat says we can't afford a dog! I agree with her, cat's aren't as expensive.

Really, I just put out $1,000 at the vet to get rid of kidney stones in my cat.  But I would do anything for my cats.  If there were an emergency I would save the cats before ANY human.

@teganslaw ---I've paid out at least $10,000 on my cat the last 5 years of her 16.  She developed so many health issues that got worse --horrible teeth requiring removal of many, heart issues, kidney, digestive,  high bp, thyroid, until I  finally had  her euthanized she was so sick.  So no---cats aren't any less expensive than dogs.
