Did you talk to the chiropractor about waiting? If not, why? That would be the fastest and easiest way of finding out the info you want.

If I have an appointment and 6 people just 'walk in' before my appointment they go before me....does that make sense? I will try to understand both sides of the argument.
Like I said I waited 30 minutes....the doctor came out, called me back, gave me a gown...I expressed my feelings about the wait, he apologized and tried to explain it to me again. Then his assistant came in (she also works the front desk) took the x-ray, which took 5 minutes and I left...fuming!
Now why would they make patients wait for the doctor when the assistant takes the xray?
It might be the law in that state. In all states, the doctor has to order the x-ray. In some states, the doctor has to see you the day of...before the procedure. He can't just order it in advance. Depending on the state, if assistants could just take x-rays without seeing the doctor that day, then they could open up shop when the doctor was on vacation in Tahiti. Or maybe your doctor just wanted to charge you for an "exam" before the x-ray. Who knows? I would have asked if it really bugged me.

Check your statement when you receive it to see what you were billed for today?
I know for years when my husband would get a Coumadin level we paid $2.25 cost of supplies..then one time we received a bill of over $300...I called and they had a new policy they bill an office call when you get the INR done..and now the only difference is the MD must be in the building when you have it done..why...so they can bill. I spoke to my insurance and they allowed it. They said how do they know he isn't conferring with the person doing the lab etc..
Although they agreed to waive the past-due amount as they acknowledged it was not really conveyed very well..no sign..nothing in the mail.
As for the appt and wait here. I woud look around to see if I could find another Chiro that I was happy with..that took my insurance and that also did things a little more on the up-and-up. I wouldn't be too happy either with that set-up.. Making an appt and everybody just walks in and in they go...

I do not blame you for being annoyed and for looking around for another Dr. I had a hair stylist for a very short time that took walk-in's. After the second time of having an appt. and then having to wait because she took a walk-in, I never went back. My long time Dr.'s appts. became longer and longer, so I left. My new Dr. is so prompt that I don't even have time to open a magazine before I'm called back and I like him better, also !! Shop around and good luck.
