I would like the last three.  When young I would have needed all of them.

My favorite vacation time is typically time at the beach. I wish I could convince my spouse to live there all year. Not going to happen, so I settle for as much beach time as I can get.

Love the beach for a couple of weeks then I'm ready to leave.  I can't stand not being able to breathe standing on on black top parking lots in the strong sun.

Here we have 4 equal seasons.

@ECBG

We have a family home on the Oregon coast that we share w/ my husband's brothers. The house is ours for 12 weeks or more each year. We let our sons each have two weeks to go w/ their families, so that leaves about 8 weeks for us, but we've rarely ever used all of our time up. My husband won't leave work that often, even though he could. Sigh.

It rarely gets hot on Oregon coast like you all get in North Carolina. We also don't get too cold, so going in the winter is also nice. I like the big stormy waves that come in and used to love walking the beach w/ my dogs before they went off to doggie heaven.

That sounds SO nice!

We are a vacation spot as well.  We are also on the Appalachian Trail.Smiley Happy

Growing up here, when I went into my early 20's I couldn't wait to leave here.  The mountains seemed so terrible confining!

It only took a few years of living in the eastern part of the state with the heat, traffic, and noise to "change my tune" with lightning speed!  No way did I want to rear a family in that environment.  I wanted them to be safe in their yard, able to bike over to a friend's house.

As events would have it, our older son's education was in an area where he could be successful here so our grandsons were able to grow up in very much the same environment.
