I put dad under hospice care on the 11th, sorry to say he passed last night,I guess he waited til I visited him yesterday morning. I wasn't planning on going,but something kept telling me to go see him and I am glad I did. I read the need to hear it's OK to go and I told him it was ok, we are going to be alright. I never cried when I was there, but this time,the tears wouldn't stop. it's been a long journey,but he is at peace now,and I hope drinking his favorite dink ABSOLUTE   (vodka ).  thank you all who gave advice and support

My deepest sympathy in the loss of your dad.  You will always remember, and be grateful for making the trip to see him on his last day.   This last precious memory, along with others will keep peace in your heart, and a smile on your face, in the days ahead.

Sending sincere sympathies to you and your family.  So nice you were able to be with your dad.

I'm so sorry about your Dad.  It is hard when a parent leaves us at any age.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.  I traveled the same road a few years ago.  Dad in hospice care here at my house and one night he just slipped away.  I think of him and miss him every day.  He was a great dad and I bet yours was too.

@tashy

I'm so sorry; may peace be with you.

A hospital nurse caring for my mother the last few days of her life, told me that she very frequently saw patients pass shortly after their loved ones had left their bedsides.  (My mother had passed about 15 minutes after I left.). Interestingly, a year later my dad passed about 30 minutes after I left.

My deepest sympathies to you Tashy. Losing a parent is very hard.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Many times a person passes after Family and Loved Ones have left - to spare them the 'death watch' that occurrs in some Families.  Your loved ones are now - all around you.
