After sleeping a horrible night on the couch with dear pup as the blanket (but of course) and DSH in the recliner with large box of tissues and all the chest congestion, at 10:20 he can't take it any longer, and calls the family dr. Our appointment is at 4:45. If course we move to clean up, eat, and have meds like molasses in the Artic cold. I drive through the worst time of day possible. Turns out that all of this congestion is bacterial!!!
Now I'm ticked! I told the trama specialist that the amount mucus was unusual and dark. She said "that's what a cold is like!". Wait until I get that evaluation!~!! He's been so miserable and so good!!!
He's coughing more violently than a smoker would!!!

@ECBG I think everyone who goes into a hospital is lucky if they don't pick up some form of a cold. You are weak and the sickest are all there.I hope your DH recovers quickly and you both get better rest soon...hang in there.

@dex,Thanks. He developed this "ick" from drainage gone bad then rode back in cold pelting rain breathing cold water vapor. After having to get him presentable and over to our family dr this afternoon because it has gotton so violent, it's bacterial! (Believe me it wasn't an easy thing to do!). The trama dr wouldn't even look at him when I told her how much he expelled. She just turned pages on a chart!

So sorry you're going through all that (him too, of course), and I too hope all is better today. I don't have any "medical or helpful advise" just a hang in there message. I'll be thinking of you both. Take care.
