Update: I've newly lost most Hand use -

[ Edited ]

2/1/26

I know we often wonder, esp on QForums here,

("~I wonder what ever happened to "so & so...")

(I've even seen one concerned thread, asking abt our friend, @monicakm recently, absent for a goodly amt of time ... )   Woman Frustrated

.. I know,  I wonder what happened as well ? Woman Surprised

FYI -

?Last ~2+ weeks?   I've suddenly, & newly lost most feeling in my fingers/hands,  so my typing, writing,  any hand use is quite restricted, curtailed, at least for the now.

I'll miss as much, active participation,  as many of you, esp here on the Board can imagine.

Definitely, wasn't part of my plans.

I wanted to just update, & let you know - what has recently happened for this change.  Woman Frustrated  Woman Sad

Ooh, that doesn't sound good, @JoyFilled Warrior.

I am still dealing with a numb foot, which I was told was a pinched nerve. I wonder if that happens to the hand, too. I woke up with that before Christmas.

Did you talk to a medical person about it?

@JoyFilled Warrior.  I hope you have or will soon see a doctor to determine the reason for this.  It's very strange and not a normal aging thing.   I would have beaten a trail to my doctor's door.

Let us know what you learn.

I am also dealing with numbness in my foot and up my leg. Also cannot lift the front on the foot up when sitting or standing. My Dr diagnosed it as Foot Drop. He sent me for an MRI and it showed a pinched nerve in the L-4 and L-5. I am supposed to go and be fitted for a brace but, I want to try exercise's own my own first. The only other option is spine surgery which I want to avoid. Worst thing for me is the Foot Drop make's me trip spmetimes. I found some good exercises online line and I really think they are helping.

Mine started out with the leg being numb, felt like a wooden limb, as well as the foot, @Love4cats. I woke up with it at 3 am and was scared.  I had no clue it might be a pinched nerve.

The leg is finally back to normal. The foot is better bit still bothersome. I hope your situation improves, too, without surgery.

Let me add though that I didn't have foot drop.

I don't need anything that adds to my general clumsiness.

Go to a doctor!  This is not normal aging.
