No amount of therapy, rehab or nursing care will help if she actually has a blood clot.

It needs to be dissolved before it travels to her lungs or heart.  This type of problem usually requires a diagnosis by a CT scan or an ultra scan.

I hope if she actually has a blood clot, she is taking this seriously.  It's a dangerous position to be in. Time is of the essence to avoid a stroke.

I know this sounds off base but I have been wondering if she has early stages of dementia. It just seems she is all over the place with her health issues and none of it makes sense. I don't mean to be offensive but I have been trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together.  I do wish her well.

No matter how much we care the OP only seems to be here for sympathy. I have concluded she is unable to understand the complexity and urgency of her situation. For this I feel very, very sorry for her. But my sentiments won't make her proactive nor will it remedy the dire situation she has painted for this community of posters @CicadaSongs .😳

@ECBG , I think what you are seeing is all of us who have dealt with issues you are expressing you have whether ourselves our with our families.  As a result we see massive red flags that should be addressed to determine what in fact the issue is, if anything.

The ER does in fact do more than what you say if they see something going on.  They run tests to see what the issue may be and if necessary admit you; if not, release you.  No harm.  So maybe you wait a few hours for absolutely nothing; on the other hand, maybe they find you have something going on that needs to be treated and will make you feel better.

But this is all a choice you need to make.  If in fact it is just a matter of being unsteady on your feet and you have a reasoable explanation for the swelling that doesn't need checking, and in fact your morning voice is such that makes it difficult for people to understand, and the other things you have mentioned, only you know that, and your family are the ones who actually are with you and see you and know what's going on.

Anyway, I wish you well and hope you can get the home PT there soon to be able to get you back on your feet.

@ECBG , One other thing....I can't remember if in any all of these posts you have mentioned you have spoken with your doctor.

On the subject of the swelling from being on Eliquis I do know that if you have swelling that is one of the side effects you are supposed to immediately contact your doctor about.  At least with my doc's office if I contact them about a side effect from a med they get back to me even if on a weekend and even if my doc isn't on call, another doc calls.

I have feared this recently from many posts.

@elated   A few days ago, she stated that she was on a breathing machine. Edema, pain and difficulty breathing, to me could indicate congestive heart failure. And a blood clot on top of that?

Yikes!  I'd be calling for an ambulance to get immediate care at the ER. Isn't that what her doctor's office recommended for her to go?

@Enufstuff  And add very severe nosebleeds! This is all in 10 days time.
I am not an alarmist but reading all of this is very concerning. My husband would have had me at the ER with the low oxygen and nosebleeds!! See Wellness forum.

Waiting to make an appointment for a physical therapy appointment does not make sense.
