Bless you. This is not an emergency. I thought I could get into a rehab not emergency room. Thank you.

This morning 2 providers told you to go the ER. In order to go to a rehab under Medicare you need to be hospitalized for 3 DAYS. Otherwise they won't pay. Since you outlined your serious health issues why the change in attitude about this not being an emergent situation? @ECBG
I assumed the rehab was easy to go to; not so. Maybe they only work with traffic victoms.
Traffic victims? No, not just accidents, they work with people such as myself, who had a stroke and a carotid endarterectomy. They helped me to use my hands as I have permanent disabilities with weakness. Same after heart attacks. Rehabilitation is often necessary. However, it is dependent on the rehab. And how willing the patient is to work hard to get well. @ECBG .

Certainly you didn't think you were just going to show up and check yourself in as if it were a hotel?

@ECBG. I was in a rehab center for two weeks after I had knee replacement surgery in 2011. I went by ambulance right from the hospital. I live alone and had no help. I had to be referred by my doctor. You can't just walk into those places, you must have a medical referral.
If you still think it might be helpful to be in rehab, discuss it with your doctor. They are for anyone trying to recover from an accident, injury, illness or surgery.

@ECBG. Since their jobs depend on you being at home, I'm not sure you'd get an unprejudiced opinion. Your doctor would be better.

I think calling an ambulance will get the best outcome, the medical folks will take notice.

@Trinity11 Agree! This is an emergency...they MUST see you immediately in the E.R. Your age is also a factor that warrants immediate attention!!

@ECBG I am really confused and worried about you. Your health appears to be deteriorating rapidly. Not being able to walk is a serious issue. If it were me, I would have gone to emergency because of the water retention in my legs and the inability to walk.
Sometimes, we need a person to be an intermediary to find the best solution for our health problems. What is happening with your PCP? Is he or she working with you? Please don't take the wait and see attitude with your health. I am praying that you or your husband start moving forward to get you well.
