@Jk9 wrote:Hope all goes well with your PT @ECBG. I finished my therapy last month. My therapist was great with trying to tailor my exercises to adjust to my issues. We finally stopped treatments when they were bothering the nerves in my lower back. She gave me a great list of exercises I can do at home to keep my core strong.
I had the same thing happen. The PT exercises they gave me for my leg aggravated my knee. The exercises they gave me for building muscle had to stop because of the osteoporosis. Then they gave me exercises for osteoporosis, which ended up irritatating the lower back.
I gave up on PT and going to rely on medications. I am way too confused to figure out the PT protocols.

@ECBG I think that the physical therapists could really help you with mobility and recovering from the fall you had a while back. I wish you well and I'm glad your spirits are up and that you got some rest yesterday, Take it easy today and enjoy your Saturday!

Totally! I hope they call Monday to set up my therapy dates.
DH has been holding my hands as I walk to him, he walks backward to the bathroom. I roll half way and walk the rest.

@ECBG Do you have a walker or cane? Its great that your husband is helping you walk, but please make sure to use a walker or cane too if you have one. I recommend for you to call the physical therapists office and your primary doctor's office to talk about your symptoms you've been having. When Monday rolls around, make sure to call the physical therapy office first thing in the morning to remind them to see you, ECBG

Normally, a RN makes a visit to assess the patient before PT can come in. So hopefully, there will be an updated physical exam for @ECBG . Then PT usually starts their visits if the person is home bound or sets up coming in for outpatient therapy. Any way, I think it's good that something is being done to help. Best wishes to get better! That 's the important thing.

@Jk9 I believe she already had an outpatient PT appointment and at that appointment home PT was recommended. Based on on the threads I have read about her health issues, I think she thinks that the weight loss, swelling and breathing issues are all due to the fact that she is inactive and she thinks that if PT can get her walking she will be fine.

@ninjawife @Jk9 After all her posts I'm so confused about how this began, issues now and what she's actually doing to get medical help. It sounds like more than just a physical therapist is needed. Has she been to a doc? What happened to care facility and/or home care person she mentioned? I've "known" @ECBG for many years here. This all does not sound coherent IMO.
