Re: Unacceptable Handling of Rx Refill by a Physicians Office

I've never heard of this big of a problem with a prescription renewal, especially when dealing directly with the physicians office.

My CVS pharmacy automatically contacts the physician after the last fill of the prescription; they've even done it needlessly with one time only scripts.   My mother's OptimaRX service also contacts her physician for script renewal.   The VA has a Triage nurse I contact in regard to my husbands medications; I get a response within 24 hours.

This situation is just unacceptable.

Mention 'lawsuit' that will do it.

Take hubby to the ER and then find another doctor.  Such behavior is NOT acceptable.

@BunSnoop, do you have an update?

The only time I have ever encountered that was when I hadn't seen a particular physician in 6 months. The doctor refuses to renew prescriptions unless you see him twice a year.

Unless it is a controlled substance the renewal should be easy.

Myabe he wasnt to get another in office visit out of it to bill you.

I get most of my scripts 90 day supply with a three month renewal
